Have you seen any around you besides yours? I think ours is one of the few around here and ever with our last one, she never saw another Shiba in 14 years…. Though she didn’t like going anywhere

 

Thanks, yours as well -- they could be cousins! I haven't seen another one around other than our 2. We have her half-uncle as well. Shibas aren't good dog park dogs, so we stick around the house for the most part. The older male is my camping buddy, he's seen more of the US than my kids. I saw one back when we lived in the St Louis area, but that is the only other one I have ever seen. They are a funny breed.

 

They really are lol. Our new one surprised us, she loves people, well at least so far. Our first one didn’t like anyone else but my wife and I from the day we got her. Maple, she just want to meet everyone and have them pet her.

Im hoping she’s going to like traveling. Taking her to a dog daycare weekly to get her used to other dogs. She likes dogs too, unless they are bigger dogs barking and she can’t see them.

We’ve got a trip planned to the outer banks this summer and are going to bring her. One of the few places there that allow dogs on the beach, but only before 9 or 10 and after 5. I think the sand would be too hot for her to walk on then anyway.

Ha, our male is socially inept with both people and other dogs. If you are in our house, he's trusting, but outside of the house he is suspicious of everything. Our female loves people, but she needs to be the dominant one with other dogs, which doesn't always work out well. She's smart as a whip, learned how to open doors as soon as she could reach the handle, and even figured out how to pull them open. I had to switch the laundry room door to a round knob.

 

That’s crazy lol. I can’t imagine mine being able to open the doors. I think she could figure it out, shes pretty smart too.

Good morning Eric.

It may be a holiday but I've got stand-by this weekend...and attend morning Production Meetings Mon-Thur (except today).

I bought extra Blueberry Muffins because I thought we were going up north to visit our youngest daughter + her hubby.

The weather ruined that...and there was this concert in NY (On Sat) that both daughters were going to but had to cancel due to weather.

Needless to say, they were bummed but a 6hr round trip in that kinda weather was just too risky.

Anyway...I'm eating one of the muffins that did not make it up north. lol

 

Hopefully they got a refund for the concert. Holiday for me today as well.

I’m drinking my coffee and just had my pop tart and it’s about time to walk the pup again.

It’s cold and windy out there.

 

No refund...that's disappointing...they've been up north to concerts in the past but this winter has been bad.

I advised to my son-in-law they should spend the night near venue instead of driving up the day of...they're trying to avoid additional costs but winter concerts are unpredictable.

We are the grand-pup sitters and also host their overnight stays...both daughter's rooms are still dedicated to them! lol

Have fun walking the pup...the kitties woke me up at 6:30am to be fed and have disappeared into the house/under the bed/watching birds/sleeping again!

I could do without this wind...the leaves seem to love gathering in front of the garage door.

The wind is making it so much colder...although, there is a chill in the air.

I've gotta spend a little time outside opening a crate to inspect/take photo of aircraft part for PN/serial number.

One of the perks of this job is inspecting components removed from the C17 for repair...and also certain serviceable assets coming to the base.
