The one I posted for you, straight out of the owner’s manual. You’re not wrong that most manufacturers don’t specify a warm up but a rare few do.

BS, this is a thread about gasoline powered vehicles, a diesel doesn't count. I'd wager there isn't a single manufacturer selling gasoline powered vehicles in North America that specifies a warm up prior to driving said vehicles.

Haha, can’t change the statement after the fact. You said no one recommended it, I showed you at least one. Either way, warm up for comfort and functional heat or not, no one really cares. Those of us who live in the cold will keep warming the vehicle beforehand regardless.

Okay, one last time for the cheap seats, name one manufacturer selling cars in North America which recommends a warm up for a gasoline powered engine. Here's a hint, unless you dial back the clock to the era of Corvairs, air-cooled Porsches, and air-cooled VWs, I'll wager you will not find one.

If it's freezing and the taco is covered in ice and snow, I warm it up until it's toasty and it's easier to scrape the ice and snow off. Warmer weather is start and go.

Exactly. I agree. Ignore the guy only fixated on the engine. He didn't start the thread but decided it was only about gas engines.

Not trying to argue with you, but if it is said "to avoid long warmups" in the Mazda manual, how long would it take for the engine to warm enough for the light to go out if the antifreeze is -20 degrees and colder? See, I have already explained several times that, "all depends on how cold is cold is" where you live at. I also said that during the summer I start the engine with the remote (trucks, and SUV are parked outside), and by the time I walk to it the engine is already warm enough, and the AC is already starting to cool the cabin.

Not to be pedantic, but the amount of time the engine takes to cool to ambient temperature will be affected by the windchill.

If you leave your vehicle outside overnight, that won't matter, as it will surely fully cool off in calm air or a blizzard. But, if it's only off for a few hours, it may well retain some heat in still air, whereas it will cool rapidly if it's facing a strong wind.
But yes, it can only get as cold as the "real" temperature.

I believe he quoted the manual for a Subaru Forester, and even gave page numbers. That is a gasoline powered vehicle sold in North America.

We lived in northern New Hampshire until last summer, we saw -20 on several occasions, the engine was running smooth within 15 seconds of a cold start.

Yes, and he also admitted statement in the Subaru manual in no way suggested warming up the engine prior to driving it; all the blue coolant light in many cars means is, take it easy on the skinny pedal until the light goes out.
