Too casually clearly. Certainly an interesting project though, making an intake. I'm glad we are only designing for top end power here, have a feeling actually making a well rounded intake manifold to take advantage of a certain range of an engines power would be super difficult. I don't think I would know the math to figure out plenum volume and runner length to the extent that Toyota did for example (I can do the general longer means lower torque guesstimation)... and maybe now with VVT Toyota's intakes have gotten lazier, their stock plastic ones don't seem nearly as intricate anymore.

Most of them still have an ACIS feature creating variable plenum volume to change the pressure wave characteristic for torque and power, a feature I kept... and more simple but basically the same as earlier TVIS concepts that varied runner length

I also kept the entire runner portion of the OEM Manifold... so to say I printed the whole manifold is misleading, just the Plenum/TB neck

As someone who follows aviation pretty closely, and yes there is a general cadence of GA accidents, the uptick in commercial incidents is notable. Still, it is the safest way to travel, so I wouldn't worry much. As long as it's not a Boeing at least.

Averages are dangerous this way... overall yeah probably very safe, especially when looked at in a short-term lens like 10years... but looked at in the relevant short-term lens of 2025... I might pass for the remaining 3.88yrs

I understand the sentiment but let's be clear, correlation is not causation. The Bering Air flight stalling in icing conditions on approach, the suspected yaw damper malfunction in Philly, the Blackhawk failing to see and avoid the CRJ, and the hard landing in Toronto, are not related directly to anything that has changed in the last month.

I haven't watched any recent news regarding the Blackhawk incident, but the speculation made by 3rd parties seems far more plausible than anything anyone else has officially shared. Again, I haven't seen anything in a few weeks so I don't know if anything else has officially been stated.

Most convincing one seems to be that the BH pilot acknowledged the aircraft mentioned by air traffic control, but had mistaken it for the plane that had just departed and not the one that was going to land.

Fly safe then... what a funny thing to say to someone really as if they could have any effect on the flight at all as a passenger.

There's a good Swindled podcast on that whole thing if you listen to podcasts

What I find interesting is just how confident the owner of it all was knowing full well the shortcuts he was taking...I mean it would be one thing if he was doing that and then sending people down there while he watched from above, but that crazy fucker was captaining that death trap himself every time. It's wild the level of denial that gets brought on by sheer unhinged narcissism

So I'm leavin to go camping/wheeling on Friday. Do I send the LCA bushing and UCA job after work today and the rest of the week or am I setting myself up for disappointment with no time if shit inevitably goes sideways

I don't know about the bushings (never done them but sounds pretty straightforward unless they're seized)...but UCAs are easy peasy, just give yourself time for an alignment after all that.

Opposite here - did LCA bushings twice and found it to be pretty easy.

Granted, I used the bottle jack method to pop out my old bushings and it seems to be a hit or miss for folks here.

I'm hooked on that podcast, I don't know what it is about that host dude's voice but it's soothing AF to hear him narrate wild stories of fraud and deceit lol

Is a ball joint press an option for the bushings as well? Bit nervous about bending something with the bottle jack method. And I'd have to go buy a bottle jack, would be a good thing to have but still

You can try torching them, as it's another option I've seen done by others.

Don't ruin your trip, just do it all after you get back.
