They come from the factory on 2 and I realize that when off road, all 3 settings are in play, depending on the conditions, but what about just on the daily on road?

I believe it’s actually written on the adjuster label. 3 being the firmest. Some of the videos I’ve seen are wrong.

Yes, it's written with the word "Firmer" and an arrow.

Personally, I've been going with the softest setting of 1. My question is to what others may be running for on road use...1, 2, or 3.

I have not seen a consensus. Some like firm, others like the softest setting. Guess you’ll have to decide. :D

There is a bit of a contradiction from two sources I found.

From the article link above, it states:

"One of the biggest changes that are notable is the ability to adjust the shock settings with an external click adjuster located on the bottom of the shock body near the lower mount. Sheldon named this Toyota's "QS3 switchable technology". The adjusters is on the bottom of both the front and rear shocks and has 3 settings; Zone #1, Zone #2 and Zone #3. Zone #1 is what the Pro model comes off the factory floor at, a setting meant for appropriate on road characteristics. Zone #2 is meant for fire roads, moderate off roading and a bit of a softer ride. Zone #3 is the setting made for high speed desert running which really maximizes the ability of the shock's performance."

However, I watched a YouTube video review from Chloe Kuo, here, where the Toyota instructor states just the opposite from Sheldon where 1 is off-road and 3 is for on road. This is stated at the 4:49 mark of the video.

Between the two, I would trust Sheldon 100%.

Makes no nevermind in all honesty. Just roll with what makes you comfortable. There isn't anything in the owners manual for the settings and their best case use scenarios. Imma run with the softest setting 1 for on road and adjust to 2 or 3 when off.

Oh, and unless my 25 was adjusted by someone before I bought it (doubtful), mine came on setting 2 from the factory...which does go against Sheldon in that regard.

Sheldon has probably never even driven one.

Here is another video on changing the Tacoma TRD Pro Fox Shocks.

How To Adjust Your Tacoma TRD Pro Fox Shocks!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LY2o95LPUhY

    This is in the comments:
Setting 1 is your softest ride that you'll want to use for rock crawling or smoother trails. Setting 2 you'll want to use for daily driving, or if you're carrying extra gear or people you can stiffing it up a bit to prevent too much bouncing. Setting 3 is the firmest and will protect you from bottoming out your truck when you're zooming through the desert and catching some air.

It's personal preference and depends on your driving style. I have Fox 2.5 DSC shocks on my F150 and I like to run those at the softest setting on road or if I'm going slow off road. For faster off road driving I turn the adjusters up to the firmest setting to help keep the truck from bottoming out on hard hits.

I would also use 3 in the rear when towing. This should reduce some amount of squatting, I would think.

Gave my opinion on this in another thread the other day. I run setting 1 (Soft) on the roads here. Very soft and comfortable. However, I have found if I drive fast into cornering or hard breaking the truck dives. So, if you are an aggressive driver I would say run the middle setting or hard setting depending on your driving habits.
