79.9k miles currently. 2 summers ago - AC went out (blew the compressor, clutch everything) but that's because of a car accident/traffic jam on a super hot day; while we were stuck in traffic. My wife was pregnant & we had the dog....had to blast it

For me, the frame is my only concern for an otherwise eternal Tacoma!

160k on my 06 TRD Sport

Frame was replaced under recall, along with brake lines, and UCA/LCA.

Aside from standard maintenance & batteries/tires, I've had to replace front wheel bearing, alternator, AC condenser, 4wd Actuator, exhaust rusted out, rear drum brakes were having a seizing issue so I replaced those, replaced one of my parking brake cables

2010 regular cab, just cracked 143K.

Frame replaced under the program (see sig for particulars).

Last year was above average, came around $4k. In no order alternator, another battery (routine yeah but full disclosure), swap bar pins, intermediate steering shaft, oil pan, exhaust, one more thing that I can't recall top of my skull.

Other years haven't been nearly as much and expected stuff given year and mileage. I can't complain about the factory exhaust giving me almost 14 yrs of service for one thing.

I’m over 140k on my ‘14 AC 2.7. Bought used in ‘17 at 33k. One battery, one set of tires, and one pad change on the brakes. Needs a new set of headlights at some point.

Did these have the same 4.0 as the 4runner?

I believe it depends on the year, but I know the most recent 4runner to use it had an updated version.

I timed the sale of my 2006 Tacoma TRD 4.0 V6 with the purchase of my 2024 4Runner with the 4.0 on purpose because it was the last year for this engine. The 4.0 V6 served me well over 17 years and with
all the pending engine changes I thought it was time to commit. Not really interested in the 4banger with a turbo. I'm old school and proud of it. At age 71+ this 4Runner will most likely get buried with my carcass in it!

    How was the V6 4.0 "updated" from my 2006 Tacoma 4.0? I now have a 2024 4Runner V6 with the 4.0

Main change is dual-VVTi which adds 40hp and 12tq.

Edit just to keep with main topic: 2015, 150k miles now, OG frame because it started it's life in Texas + Woolwax slazzered all over that thang does ya good.

Not sure why but the 4runner has a cartridge oil filter on bottom and Tacoma has canister filter up top.

I'll hop on the new frame bandwagon. 2010 bought used and reframed in 2021, read my sig for the exact mileage readings.

Cost me about $4000 in 2023 a piece at a time for stuff older vehicles might need, some I'd consider expected (such as the exhaust). Never left me stranded though.

    2014 DC 4x4 4.0L V6 138,000

Scheduled maintenance only per Toyota maintenance recommendations in the manual. No component failures either minor or major. 5,000 mile oil and filter changes. Tires as needed, two sets of OEM front pads and rotors; rear drums and shoes are the originals. Frame originally campaign inspected in 2021, treated, and declared: "no trouble found." No oil or coolant leaks. Cold a/c.

To answer the question: I would think 25-30 years 300,000 miles should be no problem. It would be a fun milestone to reach 25 years and be able register it as an Antique vehicle with the like plates. :proposetoast:
