2013 Trd OR Spaek plugs and fluid help

I’m about to change my spark plugs for the first time in my 2013 TRD OR at 67k. I’m not sure what plugs are in there now and what’s recommended or should I go OEM? I will do the front and rear diff to, what fluid is best?

 

go oem- ngk or denso. might cost a little more but you're sure to have genuine Toyota spark plugs. as for diff fluid- 75-90 is fine. if your truck has a limited slip diff- make sure you add limited slip additive or ensure the diff fluid your buying has it already in there.

 

Denso K20HR-U11 or

$10 NGK LFR6C-11 V-Power Spark Plug, Pack of 1

NGK LFR6C-11 are the stock spark plugs for the 4.0L, if they are original it will have half Denso and half NGK plugs.

As for gear oil anything in the correct viscosity that meets or exceeds the specs in the owners manual is fine, I run Redline synthetic gear oils in mine but that's probably overkill.

All I will add is 2009+ are open differential.
So you don't need the additive. But it also will NOT hurt it if you use it.

 

thank you! I looked up the NGK plugs and there’s a note on their site that about a 30k interval. Is that the actual recommended change? I’ve had it serviced at Toyota since I bought it and they didn’t mention the plugs until now.

The note on there site is under the fitment note and it states actual manufacturer 30,000 mi OE
Mfr recommended service interval

 

Yes if you follow the spark plug recommended interval in the manual it's 30k for the 4.0L because they are Copper plugs not Platinum or Iridium but many people have ran them 100k and beyond without issues.
It's recommended to stick with the stock Copper plugs as some people have had issues with running Iridium plugs in the 4.0L.

 

Yes, 30K is correct.
And it was required for keeping the warranty on the emissions system.

Something tells me that if you stretched it out to 50k, you will fine.
