It’s getting real close to my annual migration to Japan. 1 March, packing up and heading to the land of the raising sun for 3 months. Spring time is warm, sunny with lots of blooms. Where as here in the spring is cold, rainy, rainy, and rainy.

I'm at 112k and I think it's time to do all u joints and carrier bearing. If I mash the gas from a stop if feels and sounds like I'm on rumble strips. Texted a tw member and he thinks 100% it's time to do driveline. I'm going to look at Drivelines NW.

We have a house (left to her by her folks) just 30 minutes from the navy base in Sasebo, Nagasaki.

My first time ever getting a detail - exterior, interior, engine bay. But, they seem to have missed under the engine cover, and underside of the hood. Is this normal for $500 worth of service?

University Place - Fatz. I already cleaned it. I don’t want to leave a review before figuring out if this was f*ck up.

I've never had a detail done, but I guess I won't try that one!

I’d call and ask for a quote on a Tacoma inside and out along with the engine bay. Then ask some questions like do they remove seats, other components, do they clean under the engine cover if you have one installed and if you want it cleaned are you required to remove it yourself? Just do a little inquiring then leave a review. I’d think they would remove it and clean under it but they probably figure most people aren’t going to look so cut the corner…unfortunately

I emailed the owner. Awaiting a reply.

It seems like a miss on their part. The exterior was done well. The interior had areas where I had to wipe away excess armor all. Just disappointing considering that, 'detail', is their job description. I will say, it's a small shop (one car garage), and there were several other vehicles in their cramped parking lot when I dropped it off. I'm guessing they're missing things trying to get cars out the door. Lesson learned.

Absolutely. To me it would be pride in workmanship but most likely to get things moving

If it included the engine bay as part of it I would say thats a big miss on their part. For the hood and exposed parts I mean.

Removing parts like the engine cover...thats something that would have to be discussed IMO. And not just applying it to the engine cover but any sort of cover. It just becomes a silly liability on their end....break a plastic tab, overtighten and it cracks, ect.

Agreed. It crossed my mind to ask about which areas would be cleaned regarding the engine bay, but didn't. Now I know. o_O

Gallagher Head Lake Crew: AJ with the Ford Bronco lost a bag of cooking supplies while he was up there with us, including a Gerber Multitool that he’s had since he was 15, that has sentimental value to him. Any chance anyone has seen it?

Edit: oops, wrong thread. I re-posted it on the trip thread.
