Hello Guys I have encounter this issue while I was driving back home, P2116 Pressure control solenoid D Electrical i have seem some other people posting similar code with different description, I was wonder if you have had this error and how you have trouble shoot it before have to open the transmission pan and replace the solenoid.

I have read that it could be due to:

    1.- Low Transmission fluid
2.- Bad wiring or something not working properly electrical (Which I do not know where to start looking at since I just see a few wires getting connected to my transmission, if you could give some guidance trough this I'd really appreciate it)
3.- Replace solenoid that is bad

I Have also found this video of this guy replacing the solenoid, but the way he diagnoses it is with just listen to the noise the solenoid does here is the link with the minute:

    https://youtu.be/MnXGn3bK0MU?si=Wp_I9nciZx0TXmL5&t=118

I listen some noise without opening transmission yet, by turn the key without turning on the engine.

I would be really grateful if you can help me with this.

Before anything, I would start the truck up and let it idle until operating temperature or drive it around the block. Pop open the inspection bolt and see of fluid comes out.

It’s very common for low ATF fluids to throw that code. Typically, low fluid is associated when you tap the brake hard enough to a sudden stop and throttle back up with lag. Feels like the transmission is slipping.

I let it sit down for at least an hour and in the mean time check for wiring issues or something and the check engine shut off, i remove the inspection bolt after put the truck (in check mode) and not fluid come out, so I'm assuming I have low level on transmission fluid so I'm going to add an extra quarter to see if that makes the code do not come up again.

my buddy has a similar issue like what I mentioned. Was extremely close at changing the solenoid until I check his fluid and he was a quart low when trans temp reached operating temp. Topped off and never saw the code again.

Quick update, I add a quarter and put it in temp check again only this came out (picture) 1/4 quart or maybe less.
Now I know I was low on fluid by less than a quarter, hopefully this code is gone!!

    thanks for the help
