The Air Force museum has been on my list since I was a kid. The goal is to go visit a friend that’s stationed there at some point. The XB-70 would be neat after seeing a Concorde and Tu-144 last year.

The abandoned B-58 and B-52s next to Edwards AFB are on my list as well. I have a friend there too and my brother is at a nearby base.

Pima County has a sturdy air and space museum! Titan Missile Museum is pretty cool too!

I've wanted to get over there my entire life and have just never made it happen.. One day.
I think its the largest air museum in the country, maybe that's only if you count the boneyard too though.

They let Amber “fire” the missile last time we went, they run through the whole launch sequence, pretty cool experience

There's a decommissioned Nike missile site (site 94C) from the Cold War that you used to be able to access via fire road out here in the mountains above LA county, when my friends and I were 18/19 we'd go drinking up there like a bunch of idiots before they eventually closed the access road off for good. You could make out the missile silo in the ground and still had satellite dishes up, control rooms, etc.

Cool piece of Cold War history anyway. There were over 200 of these Nike missile bases along the west coast to intercept enemy ICBMs.

this is the one we used to drive up to. Supposedly you can still hike to it even though the road is closed off.

That’s awesome, thanks for sharing pics!

Allegedly one of these titan silos got bought by a private citizen and turned in to a house in the dove mountain area, I’d love to see how that turned out!

I've heard of people doing that with those old decommissioned nuke silos in the Midwest. Someone had plans to make like an end of the world underground condominium tower or something lol.

That local anesthesia is good stuff. Little sore after it wears off, but clears up pretty quickly.

I can feel it already, but I'd imagine it'll be better than what I was feeling before. Shit would wake me up at night.

Yeah it's awful when that pain hits a certain point. Even cool air from breathing can hurt, let alone ice cold water.

Gov't sold those Titan II sites after they were decommisioned for pennies on the dollar in the late 80's. They were the most fortified structures to be ever sold to the public, something like 6 foot concrete walls with a foot of steel lining on the outside.

I did restoration work for a Titan II site owner in Arkansas. His launch control center had a bunch of rusty vapor-proof lights with cages he sent me and I sandblasted and repainted and rewired them.

Did you show me the YouTube channel for the guy that owns the flooded site and is slowly trying to restore it?

    Ah yes I found it.
