I just bought my first Tacoma it’s a 21 trd pro I have a 2in lift icon shocks dirt king upper control arms and 32in Goodrich a/t tires I have this trailer it’s an older 1986 nomad skyline double axel I think it’s like 5000 pounds maybe I think I’m really not sure can I pull this thing or am I gonna have some issues? Do I need to put 529 gears in it?

    The truck will pull it.
I definitely will not like it, but it will do it.
Keep it in a lower gear on the highway.

Don't need gears, just lock out top gear stay in 4th or 5th and listen to the engine roar.

5000 is doable, but if you need to do it often, or daily, its time for a bigger truck. 4 times a year? just let it sing.

Yeah I don’t plan on doing it often just like an occasional trip down to the lake I live like 6 miles from a lake my girlfriend is currently using it in the next town over she goes to school their and she travels back and fourth its about an hour away with one large hill I might have to move it from the trailer park to my property or to storage I’ll realistically only have to move it twice once home for the summer and back for the winter do you think a tune may help?

In my experience these trucks get pissy towing anything over 3500lbs. Hopefully you have trailer brakes, aren't going uphill or downhill or driving in windy conditions.

It's not safe for you or others on the road.

Is that 5K lbs dry weight ... or with cargo? I'm about to tub around a 3600lbs RV Trailer. I'm on Icon RXT with the overload. Going to swap to Drilled/slotted brakes and probably a break controller. I wanted something lighter, but needed space for kids and gear.

The most important thing you need to know is the tongue weight, the Tacoma is rated for 640 lbs, many RV trailers are more than that. If the tongue weight is too high, it'll ruin your leaf springs, turn them into a frown. How do I know this... I did exactly that with mine.

If it makes you feel any better... I did that to mine... after leaving a truck load of unchopped tree rounds in the box over night. Who knew that 1500lbs of wood ... could suck.

Air bags though... could go there.

For sure that's dry weight. Then add your passengers, trailer full of snacks and pack of T.P., dog, ect. It all adds up.

Tacoma's aren't designed to tow that kind of weight.

Even with the icon suspension it’ll bend my leaf springs unless I bag it or get the sumo bump stops? I guess what I’m asking is should I upgrade the leaf springs on it?

Shocks/struts don't carry any load. That's all on your springs.
