Ya probably Wise to get the break in miles done before you get it on the trail all day. You'll be missed, might be time to head back to our Cherry creek spot? Its getting a little warm during the day and that water you know is cold!

Well shit. I've been running Diehard Platinum AGMs for years and years. Replaced under warranty almost every time. First through Sears, then when they shutdown I had to go through Advanced Auto Parts. Now.. Advanced is closing all west coast stores and my battery is dead from sitting. Still under warranty.. since I made the cutoff and bought it before they announced closures back in November. But.. they don't have any of what I need in the area. If I wanted to warranty it I would have to go to NM or TX. So.. I guess I'm finally bailing on Diehards and have to figure something else out.

I have been wanting to upgrade and relocate the battery to the passenger side firewall for some time now. Using an Iggy battery relocate kit and a Batteries Plus X2 group 27 vs the stock group 24. Better weight distribution and more capacity. Maybe this is the time. Iggy has been out of stock for idk how long. Maybe I'll make my own Relocate/battery box and just get the X2 group 27 AGM. Now's the time right? Lol

Just get the battery now, you can relocate later. You know my taco has been sitting for like 4 to 5yrs right now. Yea I've ripped her around the block and try to start her every couple of weeks at least. But this x2 i bought about 7yrs ago still charges up and holds a charge if I run her every week or 2.

Thanks for posting @05tacomabro. I wasn't aware the 27f would fit in the stock location. I picked one up over the weekend and got it in for the time being.

Also big thanks to @prise and @Milota95 for the help this weekend. Got the truck all finished up. Brakes adjusted, set and bled. Took it for a drive and everything is running great. Definitely can feel the difference and lack of vibration now. The axle shafts being bent were a large part of the vibes I was getting previously. Also removed one leaf from my pack and will adjust the front down a bit too. Need to finish the diff break in but then we're good to go. Next is to get going on moving weight around, making some adjustments to gear and modifying bumpers, adding solar and running power to the bed. Add lighting. Some other miscellaneous little things. Trying to stay motivated on it.

Well after the few years of having them and wheeling, a couple KOH trips, and sitting for 4 months while the truck was down.. I finally lost another tire.

    PXL_20250315_212030823.PORTRAIT.jpg

Ordered a fresh set Saturday.. these are the first tires I've ever bought a second set of. I do like them. They should be here tomorrow. I'll get them mounted on the fresh set of Machined Dakars I've been sitting on.

I'm not a huge fan of the ome Dakar leaf springs......but I do like the look of those Dakar wheels on your truck. Can't wait to see what a machined set looks like!

lol! yeah me either.. too much imo. This Toytec Frankenstein pack I've had over the years has been pretty solid.

Excited for the change up for sure. Going to need to get the truck detailed, headlights cleaned up, and hood painted or wrapped.

If you get it wrapped by a shop let me know how they did. I need to get the Camrys roof taken care of.

idk what I'm gonna do. Paint would be the best option.. but pricey. Almost tempted to just sand it down myself and paint it. I plan to run a solar panel on the hood in the near future so it doesnt need to be perfect.. just want to eliminate bare metal.

Yeah true. I am hoping a wrap will be less expensive but need to make calls still. You could do it yourself, lots of time to get everything prepped, primed and painted though. Space age would be your friend ha

Had a great day yesterday out in the desert with @Milota95 . We cruised and did some plinking and varmint hunting and tested out the truck and fresh tires. Everything worked great and feels so good to finally be able to get back out there.
