The bottom line is that everyone's quality has dropped recently (except for Chevy their quality dropped 40 years ago and never recovered). IMO the least bad option is the Tacoma. So wanting to get another truck, for me, most boxes are checked with the Tacoma. My two holdbacks right now are waiting for them to figure out the 2WD brake line also needs to be modified, if it's a crap design for the 4WD then it's a crap design all across the board, and more importantly it's tough paying a premium price for a "Toyota" emblem when one, the quality is down, two, they are saving tons of money on far lower labor costs in Mexico and three, they feel they can delete features common for the same price on other brands. As with all brands they seem to be padding the bill to make up for lost revenue from a few years ago and wasted billions on the EV debacle.

Luck of the draw on any make/model you buy. But you expect certain things from certain brands, and I somewhat agree with the OP - I bought a Toyota sort of expecting a more trouble free experience. So far, its not much different than any other new car/truck I've owned over the years. A few minor things that need fixing (door panels that rattle and a driver's door that squeaks when opening/closing). Otherwise, the truck's been good - has done everything I've used it for just fine, and I just keep my fingers crossed it will hold up like the Toyota reputation.
My wife is an avid fan of Toyota, Honda, and Mazda - thinking them the best of the best. But her '21 Highlander constantly thinks its moonroof is open and reminds us every time we shut off the car. Its closed of course, otherwise the interior would be full of water here in the Pacific North West in winter months, but it shows that any car from any brand can have some glitches.

I was looking at picture of a truck earlier I can't recall which post, but I couldn't see the rear brake routed over top like the recalled trucks have. I could see a line coming from around the differential. I want to say that truck had leaf springs, maybe the lines are ran different? I doubt it, I probably couldn't see the brake line in that photo.

I have a Silverado work truck, and the quality is far from Toyota. Intermediate steering shaft, bad fuse box connections, super easy to steal (mine has been stolen twice) as well as many other small problems.

I had a 2018 high country half ton i bought in late 18 with 4500 miles on it. Worst truck i ever owned and will never own a Chevy again. Too many problems to list i sold it for a loss in 21 and felt lucky to see it going down the road.

Such as...? I can't think of anything my truck is missing, not talking about available features not included with my trim level.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
20 years in 3 Toyota V-6 pickups. Now in a Nissan. Better trucks? Guess I'll find out in a decade or so. On the bright side, the Taco does have the rear discs that everyone whined about for 15 years. lol

I'm not scorned. One of the bigger fanbois 10 years ago. Nissan is offering a truck configuration I prefer over Toyota. :notsure:

I can't speak to the build quality and durability of modern Nissan trucks, but I can say that if I were an owner of a modern Nissan, I would be concerned that Nissan may not even exist in ten years. They sure seem hellbent on running themselves directly into the ground and are trying to take somebody — anybody! — down with them. They've tried to merge with practically everybody. I imagine their merger requests are akin to drunken booty calls in the corporate world at this point.

Such as the availability of a power seat with the SR5. Such as an underhood insulation pad.

Funny thing is if you want those, you can buy a higher trim.

Do any of the new 24-25 trims have hood struts? What about mirror and seat memory that is activated by which key fob unlocks the door? I don't know if any tacoma or tundra trim has those i just know i missed it when I left Chevy.

Still trying to figure out why Nissan got rid of the Titan and introduced a redesigned Armada. The Armada may be nice, but they don't sell a lot of them. Most of the Armadas that aren't five years old or more belong to the rental company.

If you are having trouble selling fullsize pick ups, I don't think you are going to move a lot of fullsize SUV.

You missed the whole point. I don't want a higher trim. The point was that standard and optional features in the prior generation are deleted in the same trim for the new generation. They just added a new feature called excessive profit.
