Lomax Hard Tri Fold Tonneau

How much vertical space does the regular lomax lose in the bed? I see there are cross members that appear to be lower than the panel so not sure how those come into play.

Can a 20lb propane tank or gas can still fit closed? Im in hurricane country, lol.

I have 6ft bed and the oem rubber mat in there now.

I'm going to purchase a new 2024 TRD Off Road in the next month or so. Leaning towards the Lomax Stance cover.

However, I'm not thrilled with the idea of the roof roof mounted clips to hold the cover in there vertical position. I'm concerned they will get damaged or dislodged when removing snow off the roof of the truck.

Is there some kind of bracket that could be attached to the bed rails to secure the cover in the vertical position ?

 

We have sold a ton of the Stance and heard of no issues so far. I have one on my truck personally with no issues.

However I am sure one could creative and figure something out if they want...

 

You lose about 2" of height right under the cross members, and don't lose anything in between the cross members. I regularly haul a 20lb propane tank under mine, just have to position it so the top of the tank sits between the cross members when you fold the top closed.

 

Your too late! Already bought and installed. But like you said above seems golden between the cross members. At least my fishing cooler fit in there....barely. I wasnt expecting that based on what others were saying as mine is slightly taller than some others i saw tested. Havent tested gas/propane yet but it definitely looked ok at least for propane as you said.

Has anyone with the Stance model tried replacing the 2 front plastic clamp bolts with a thumbwheel to essentially make this a tool-less, quick detach cover? Wont be as fast as the original tri-fold, but backing off 2 thumb wheels would still be plenty fast for the odd time you need to ditch the cover completely.

Also, as far as I can tell, it looks like the urethane version comes with a raised logo/badge but the matte version's logo is a decal?

I'm leaning towards urethane version but a little worried the raised logo will scuff the cover and/or badge when the tonneau is folded?

After that break-in attempt on my Lomax, no further drama. The edge bent back into place and you can barely see the part they tried to pry off. It’s a really sturdy cover! Just got a camper shell though and I’ll be letting mine go. If anyone in north San Diego county is interested in a cover for a short bed gen 3, pm me.
