Random but does anyone have a “cheat” for adobe on a Mac? Bought a Mac for work and I can’t stand this new subscription based stuff since I’m trying to learn. Making a logo in paint is really killing me lol

The last system I built was my 4790K build over 10 years ago. When I built that system, I was sure I'd still be building more in the future. Now I'm using my phone for most of everything, and using my laptop when I need a real PC.

I must have been lucky in the past. I've never had issues with RAM compatibly or needing to immediately update the BIOS to run a CPU (with the exception of my very first build, but it was an unusual cpu/mb combo)

Are you talking about Photoshop specially? Maybe try GIMP. I know Photoshop nerds think it's lacking in some things, but it seems to suit the needs for people who don't need it professionally, and it's free!

It's been a long time since I've tried to "cheat" (crack) to get a program, but you're gambling that the cheat isn't doing something nefarious on your system.

    Big oof on the 5070Ti.

I mean, I can understand and support folks who have been hanging onto a 1080Ti or 2070 Super who will buy that card. It's a big jump if people have been waiting for over 5 years to upgrade.

For the folks with 30 or 40 series cards, I can't see how they should spend $900 for a card that struggles to match the 4080 in raster at 1440P and 4K. Yes, I know MSRP is $750, but there's something like three cards selling at MSRP right now and everything else is over $900. I think most are smart enough to know those $750 SKUs will never be replenished.

The whole pricing thing bugs me. Jayztwocents got it right, nVidia knows with no FE card they can't use the FE to create a false floor. They're working with AIBs to make a few cards at MSRP, and everything else will be $900 plus. Also, any new restock, zero chance it's the $750 SKUs. It'll be $900 SKUs. I mean, hand clap for nVidia. They know they own the PC market and that the only chance AMD had was to go in under 20% cheaper than the 5070Ti with their 9070XT. Now it's impossible for AMD to do that, they can't do $599 or less for the 5070Ti from what's been leaked, and even though most AMD cards will probably end up priced under $800, they won't sell many because the nVidia pricing tactics will push folks towards buying a $900 5070Ti. People will say the 5070Ti at $750 is a better value because nVidia than the 9070XT, even if the IRL pricing is more like a $949 5070Ti versus a $729 9070XT.

The 4070/80 debacle left me with low expectations.

The problem is the consumer. They are buying them anyway, so we're stuck with these issues until AMD goes big boy mode again, and Intel gets competitive.

Heck I bought the 3.5GB 970 and still went back to nvidia.

I'm still tickled with my $520 7800XT order 18mo ago. 16gb of ram and I feel like it'll do fine for many more years for non-ray traced 1440p. That was the sweet spot back then for sure. Seeing things now come out for much more with 12gb of ram is mind boggling.

Yeah, it's crazy that the 5070Ti will likely be the lowest people can go for Ultra settings 1440P raster gaming at native resolution. A 60 class card should be able to handle that by now but crippling their lower ends cards has created a weird situation for nVidia buyers.

Got the case in today and started building the new server, I haven’t received my HDD’s yet so it has 3 SSD’s installed, going to install windows tonight to test it.

Went back and looked at your build list, that ARC will be perfect for plex transcoding. Ideal use case, honestly.

I had my build up and running some games with friend this week. Running Marvel Rivals which I’m guessing isn’t a very taxing game but on WiFi I was seeing 250-300 FPS. I’m finishing my basement which will include a hardwire for my PC. I’m excited to say the least!
