my wife calls it hot wheeling, and she says I’m wasting time when we are already at the grocery store doing our shopping on Sundays. She says I waste the whole day hot wheeling. I’m literally in the hot wheel aisle for like 90 seconds tops.. sometimes I think I’m just not allowed to have joy in my life. lol

Friend sent me this pic… he collects Miatas and I’ve given him some before.
I saw this in the store but thought it was wrong generation. Apparently it has all the popular “mods”.

My wife says very little about what I collect these days because she has no room to talk with an insane collection of Raggedy Ann's and Andy's that she has. We have no children so the spare bedrooms became the doll room and car room. She even has matching wall paper and curtains kind of like William63 does. I used to collect anything I liked which is when my collecting got out of control and boxes and totes started piling up in the basement. She was doing that too.
I lost interest in Nascar and that was when I began to let things go and could not believe how much stuff I had. Even with the Nascar stuff gone my room was still full and so were the wall of shelves in the garage. With my wife the closet is still packed floor to ceiling in her room. I made the decision to only keep what fit in my room and the garage would be my staging area for what stayed and what would go. To make this work I also had to limit what I collect now which is Gassers, vintage drag racing and pick up trucks.
I still have a lot of everything else but that is what goes to the garage these days very slowly. If something new comes in something old has to go. It makes me think before I buy something(most of the time). She stopped buying all together and doesn't complain seeing what I buy now is a fraction of what I once did. I've been collecting since 1983.
I'm 65 and we recently had discussion on what we are gonna do with this stuff when we are gone. Fortunately for me I have several other family members whose into cars and my collection will eventually go to them.

I was about to say… please do for family who may not understand - either tag or create a letter (with pics) that explains those with value. They won’t know and just see them as room of items. They will likely keep a few, for sentimental reasons, but bulk sell the rest. Knowing fate, they picked the common ones and bulk sold those of value unknowingly. Even better, let them select their favorites as you “thin the heard”. And give them the above info as well as a realistic value to the bulk collection. I say this a a grandson, and son. Having been through this several times with obscura.

I used to collect Star Wars prop replicas and action figures but haven't gotten anything new in a while. I used to have a full suit of stormtrooper armor back in the early 2000's but sold it when I quit going to conventions around 2002 or so.
My son has started collecting hotwheels cars and has started to hang them on his walls in his bedroom. Every once in a hile he grabs one for me when he runs across something unique like a batmobile or knight rider, ghostbuster car, etc.
Been wanting a 24 taco hotwheels or matchbox car but they don't make one in bronze oxide and the only one I've found was white and the scalpers have already started hoarding them and selling them for upwards of $15..... Thats a no for me dawg!

Do you have a pic of those 68 Chargers you have? Assuming they were newer chargers or 69 Chargers 500 but not sure. ***while looking through the boxes I pulled out 4 purple 68 Chargers***

I build RC crawler trucks and drifter cars, I fly fish and still buy vinyl records too. The wife hates the rc stuff because they get mighty expensive. I get a pass on some fly fishing stuff because she enjoys a riverside picnic. The vinyl has limited shelf space remaining so that has been really slow for the past 3 years or so. We had a baby last year and my wife has expressed a desire to save more for vacations and trips so we can travel like we did before. I end up shelving it all for 6 months or so then jumping back in. I should probably shelve it all now because fishing opens up in April/May

I never found the green and gold landcruiser anniversary. Was it a store exclusive?

Mostly stock, just getting it to my liking, just happy to have had the taco and now my 4Runner.
No, I’ve seen them at Walmart, food city, target, and dollar general. Think it’s just luck of the draw on cases they get.

You're in luck! This is coming ... it's a premium so it'll be around $7. Thank you @AR15xAR10 for sharing!
