What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

first impressions? i feel like to gain the full benefit of it, the carrier bearing crossmember needs to be stiffened up too, but i'll be doing that part shortly.

 

Hey man, I've got a bad seal on my rear window that's causing it to detach, and I'm going to replace it myself. Can you share anything about how you did it? What kind of gasket and adhesive did you use?

I buy my splash guards off Amazon. They seem to last a decent amount of time until you need to actually get in there and pull them apart

 

I did the same, but the holes for the push rivets weren't fully lined up, had to do some manipulation to get them to line up. But even then, it was a good upgrade from the factory ones that had gotten torn up and were just hanging on by one rivet.

 

Well it's still early but these high articulation CVS seem to be holding up. For what ever reason in my suspension work I was slipping the tulip out of every other CV I tried. New shocks and springs and all of a sudden they aren't long enough

 

Nothing done today, but I will be installing these over the warm weekend forecasted here in CO. I've got quite a few things I'll be doing prior to my road trip to Vegas in April.

Nice rig! How does the back end feel with the weight of the bed off of it?

 

I think it's still pretty heavy, but it's nice everything being moved forward. Removed a 100lb bumper and cut almost 10" off the frame. Where you at Pete? I live in BV

 

I'm in Superior, but I visit your neck of the woods at least once every summer. Would love to have a wheeling buddy in that area.

 

I've loved my nilight products, they are great, only had 2 of them ever had a condensation leak, and i have probably purchased like 20 plus pairs. and always been super quick to replace ones that have failed.

 

This is going to be my first nilight product, I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs. My light bar is a Blazer and I got Raptor Lights as a gift from iJDMToy a few years ago. What are you using as a controller for your lights? My lady was a sweetheart last year and got me one of these

 

have not had any problem with this but the covers for the fuse box broke off like 3 years ago.

 

Ooo that's some clever placement of the controller. How you go about running the wire?

 

My fuse panel is right behind my battery. So I just ran the cord through the firewall grommet on the driver side up the a-pillar and then tucked it up underneath the headliner and how to drill a hole through the back of that I wrapped A thin piece of sheet metal and some cheap sound density drill. Two holes screwed the switch panel to it and then use rivets to mount it to the garage door opener door.

 

I did several small things, but I'm pretty happy about it.

New OEM rear mud guards. Expensive, but I like OEM and I like the nice white letters...

And I'm glad I did, because I discovered that since the truck had been missing the front guard before I bought it, some little critter had made a nest in the body behind the wheel, and the missing guard had been allowing all kinds of mud and ice to get inside. I'm really really glad I found this now and cleaned it out. I'm pointing at the problem area in this picture...



I also replaced a missing OEM wheel hub cover.

Previous owner seems to have had an erratic attitude towards the truck, I got tons of documentation for maintenance and oil changes etc. but there were all these missing parts? Whatever, it's better now, and at only 64k miles with a clean frame, I'm happy to take care of the small stuff.

 

that AUX beam will do you just fine, I've the nilight version( I've seen no difference between the Auxbeam and the nilight, and one other variant I've messed with), the 6 gang in my Tacoma, and the 8 gang in my other toy. both are great, the 8 gang can set up a momentary flash option which ive never used, and a "strobe" option and that is what ive set up for some rear facing dust lights!
