Putting spoons in your engine is a bad idea. They get stuck in the valves and stuff. Be careful out there gents.

Okay enough nonsense, back to some of my questions - oh wait. Yeah this may also be nonsense.

Watching some videos on replacing the cam gears I came across a guy slapping in an intake spacer. https://extremetruckperformance.com...d-spacer-toyota-tacoma?variant=43099643969754 One of these.

Anytime I see something about straightening out the air, I get a little suspicious. But staying open minded - is this a good idea with the supercharger? I don't even know if that plus the m90 would interfere with hood clearance. But better yet if it really does anything at all.

Sounds like going to the modular pulleys is a good idea. Outside of swapping the pulley, should I need anything else? I'm not sure the belt will still be in tension range, or if the tune that comes with the magnusson will still apply. (Never mind rereading the OP I found belt info, strike this question) May not be affected, not sure. This might be a phase 2 idea of my build, and just go with the m90 out of the box with the included tune to start. Also depends how tough moving to the modular is after the charger is installed on the rig.

Appreciate the help guys. Close to ordering the charge and CAI today, I just need to decide on the CAI box. AFE or URD... Still mulling that one over.

    EDITING TO ADD

Trigger pulled. URD intake done got did. Supercharger on the way. I've been thinking about this one for a long time, very excited. Thanks for all the help encouraging me to make a questionable but extremely satisfying purchase. I still need to figure out the little stuff, like gauges but this gets it going! SO to speak. Puns.

Ordered from https://gaugepods.com/products/tacoma-2-pod-full-pillar-05-09. Note that it's designed for '05-'09, ostensibly due to later models' A-pillar airbag, so fit varies a little. (This is why the plug cap isn't totally flush, but I've learned to live with it.)

The stock intake is not a restriction for a while. Down the road of mods (exhaust), you’ll eventually (still probably not) reach the limitations of the OEM intake.

It may be Lotek - I don't recall.
Disagree with your "garbage" assessment. As I stated, fitment isn't perfect because they weren't designed for 2010-2015 MYs. It varies a little from piece-to-piece, but most I've seen aren't bad enough to trigger my automotive OCD.
IIRC, they were the only one available when I bought. I wanted a pillar pod because I don't care for the steering column mounts.
Disagree with your "alot of tweaking" assessment. Modification required for mine was slight and focused on the bottom gauge fitment, taking minimal time with a Dremel.

Massaged the inlet to transition more smoothly with the tb adapter without removing too much material. First image is the unmodified adapter and inlet.

is that one better than the lotek
the lotek one i got for my 06 needed alot of tweeking and dremeling to get it to fit and it looks not the best. the gauges fit, but the part around the grab handle was my issue so you might not have had any issues especially if its not a lotek one. but the reviews for the lotek one arent the best

Maybe? As I said, mine could be Lotek - all I recall is where I bought it.

To be clear, I'm not arguing with your experience. Reports from the time when I bought mine were somewhat mixed. Some folks reported few (if any) problems with theirs, while others decided they were too much trouble to deal with. Mine fell somewhere between those extremes, requiring some Dremel work to make things fit correctly. The only lingering fitment issue is that the pod's contour doesn't exactly match that of the "Oh, shit!" handle. For me, that isn't a big deal. Obviously, YMMV.

mine works and does the job, but if you look at the grab handle, where it meets up, isnt pretty. but everything does what its suppose to do. and yeah, there was no other option and still dont think there is another good option that isnt pricey. think i found another but it was over $200 i think

I didn't know the pillar could fit, with adjustment, to the later 2nd gens. It seems parts/fitment varies, but I decided to order one and I'll post back on my experience. I have the steering column mount, but always wanted the pillar style.

Def Lotek I have the same. It was the only one. Nice setup right it does the job and can’t tell. I painted mine black along with the headliner looks clean. I like others did do some dremel work to make it fit. The handles kind of fit but close enough.

I had a set of these. One worked perfect, the other leaked like crazy. Changed it back to a Continental hose no problem, doesn't look cool though...

I'm going over the supercharger install directions from URD. Anything to note that just isn't well thought out in there? Also is there anything missing in the kit to do the job? Serp belts, spark plugs etc. I think it's fairly complete but the install manual doesn't have a "heres what should be in the box" page to look at.

Also I am noting that performing the tune is step 1. That seems kind of wild to me, in case the build doesnt go as planned and you have to go back to stock maybe until a part gets ordered etc. Anyone really doing the tune as step 1? Seems a bit... bold. To me.

PhoS good tip on the hose I will look out for that.
