Hydro lock may have bent a connecting rod, what are my options?

    Well now it potentially still has a good top end. Run it until it dies and that goes out the window.

    The key word in your above statement is "potentially" which I agree with. Thus, I personally would be more than willing to roll the dice on this one. But then again, what the hell do I know!

    Did you get water in the oil? If so you probably just washed out the bearings and damaged the crank. If that’s so as low milage as your engine is I would just put a new crank with new rod and main bearings. I doubt the rods are damaged the rod bearings are your weak point. JMHO

    All you can do then is tear it down and see how much damage you did when it hydro locked. Hopefully just some bearings are damaged fingers crossed but you very well could have bent a connecting rod. I think 18K is ridiculous for a salvaged engine swap.
