That's crazy. Like they were playing chicken (but they suck; car vs motorcycle). Glad you stayed safe. I'd take forever to wind down after that; I'd probably still be pissed today.

Saw a unimog on portals so I looked into 74weld portals. .. decided that would be my route to go to fit 37+ without replacing most of my components.. regeared to 6.45 (5.29+1.22).. CMR, fixed cam tabs, rear disk brakes, convert to full float, fender cut, etc. Tried to install a Marlin steering rack but no go. Guess I gotta wait for 74weld tacoma rack.

oh and solar panels on RTT .

And hypertech for my speedometer recalibration. My avg mpg was 8.5 mpg on 37s but after installing hypertech... now avg mpg highway is 14.6 (37s) and mph to gps mph is spot on.. much needed calibration.. that's it for now...

That's the one. I went with the delrin one instead of aluminum because I didn't want to wait that long and it didn't seem like it was needed with the rest of the manifold being plastic.

This is the thread that sucked me down a rabbit hole.

Did the labor yourself, what's the rough cost for all the goodies? Portals are sick for so many reasons.

Installed some Morimoto BigBanger Pods on the rock runner 2.0, mounted directly on top of the bumper on either side of the TSS radar sensor (no issues with it).

Wow! They sure are! They look way better in your picture than the ARK web page.

I knew somebody would see it! Been holding off on tires to install the lift and get it aligned. Obviously, the procrastination has been for too long. That is the factory alignment by the way...:confused::confused::(

They screw into factory mounting points and are pliable enough to bend to the curvature of the fender. Yet, thick enough to be comparable to Rally Armor Products. FWIW, my Rally Armor flaps were used on (3) different STI's over 11 years and hundreds of thousands of miles.

Yes, my bro-law and I did the install.. 20k for the portals kit.. cmr, hi fender clearance, and a some tubbing, and fixed cam tabs, etc.. All done in the garage.
Got a quote from a local 4x4 shop install alone is $5k+. Include the other labor cmr, lca, fender clearance, etc.. new wheels and tires.. it would probably be another $5k+ Saved a lot from labor.

Got tired of sounding like an old spring mattress all the time so I finally took time to hunt down and fix my squeaks. For my rear (no pictures) it was the factory Fox shocks. Took them out, cleaned, and lubed the shafts (giggidy) and fixed the rear squeak. (They were so bad they wouldn't even rebound without assistance. After lubing and forcing them through full range of compression a few times, they worked great and no more squeak). For the front end I narrowed it down to the radiator support bushings, replaced them with new energy suspension bushings. No more front end squeak! Took it for a drive down a bumpy dirt road by my house and only heard stuff moving around in my bed! Only took a picture of the old worn out bushings, not as bad as some have posted but enough to cause noise.

Looking forward to this day! The Tacoma is the only truck I’ve bought on a loan that I’ve loved! The first one, a 2000 Tacoma 5spd 4wd I had to get rid of due to leaving the military and not being able to find a good enough paying job to keep it and still pay all the other bills, poor planning of a 22 year old! So my 2020 I absolutely love and can’t see myself getting rid of! I’m jealous of your accomplishment!
