Having worked in Midland and been to the gettoh Walmart over there this is scarily accurate

It did have a straight outta 2007 vibe to the place

    5 or 6

I remember that time because of the "great recession" my grandpa sold properties and put the money in the stock market than paper handed than got sick... pretty turbulent and shattered the dynamic we all had

That thing sucked to removed. I had to use a long socket extension and hammer to pound it out. Some people can do it without popping the clamshell open with pry bars - I say it’s impossible. I tried.

I did eventually get it without opening the clamshell, but only after doing some damage in the name of learning.

Coming through the diff with a prying/poking device and a hammer to push the stub out eventually worked for me. It took some time to find just the right screwdriver that would fit around the diff's center pin and contact the stub shaft without hitting the needle bearing. A small/slender pry bar might have been better. I've got a custom-bent screwdriver that I'm going to try next time.

Splines and circlips give me trouble on CVs too, but I've gotten better at dealing with those. It seems to me that the key is to find the magic orientation where the circlip will slip out easily. I don't know of a secret to finding that orientation--just rotate, jiggle, pry, until it comes free. That's easier to do when everything's held in place in the vehicle.

Been using my moms Outback and enjoying driving around in the snow being a hometown tourist. Good timing for them to be visiting Florida haha.

I guess my FIPG 1281/red is bad. I put some on a piece of paper last night and it's still tacky 24 hours later. Bummer.

My father finally made a decision and bought a 2024 TRD OR AT Tacoma. I'm getting his 2008 to fix up for my active duty brother and I'll be getting that 03 Tundra I gave him back in return.

Plan is to 4WD swap it and flatbed it with a cheaper UTE bed brand flatbed like below.

I've had this issue a lot lately. I usually break down and get a new tube and it's fine... but what a waste. And a waste of time.

I didn't even know the stuff had a shelf life until earlier this week. There's no obvious expiration date on it. This was an unused tube, but I got it secondhand and have no idea how old it is. Glad I looked into it before trying to glue a diff together.
