You know, I'm here asking about weights but really I'm going to be a bit nervous about it on this second build.

With the battery up front, I'm hoping to keep any weight I add down low.

The battery location really does make a difference. That 3s (25g) is a lot of fun, very zippy, but the performance overall is better with the lighter 2s (17g). It's not even taller, just wider.
I have a pair of single 150mah cells that might be able to fit in a lower location, and more towards the rear in my case. Weighing on the scale front to rear, 300 front, 200 rear right now.

But it's rotating mass so it's not as great as it might seem

Got my body all painted up. Just need to make some windows and a windshield and it'll be Rady to mount on the chassis

So I went to hook up my wolf esc to my pc to mess with the setting and it failed to communicate. Decided to just hook it up to my valkyrie motor and just run it with whatever default settings it was sent with. Upon turning everything on my motor begins to smoke. Maybe a mistake by me? Idk, but motors toast and probably a faulty esc. Emailed mofo for some further guidance.

LGRP replacement axle housing, and tire arrived along with my Hard Park order!

    20250222_085958.jpg

    The axles look gooooood

    20250222_091629.jpg

I'd argue the links are cut out a bit better than the chassis from MD

    20250222_091822.jpg

The holes are perfectly round and there's no evidence of a lead in/out like I noticed on the chassis

Got it all figured out. Apperantly the esc was sent to me with brushed settings loaded. Ended up wiping the firmware and downloading some brushless settings and all is good. The only response from mofo I got about my situation was that the motor will smoke if esc is set to brushed. That's it. Nothing more. No next steps nothing. Now I just need to figure out what all these different settings do

    Fuuuucking aye

Not sure if it was the tires, the shorter chassis, or both but the rig performed significantly better today

On steep descents, I can actually stop the rig in place whereas before I had to forcibly continue otherwise the rear wanted to go sideways or force the front end to start pivoting

    20250222_104717.jpg

Steep climbs like these don't require me to "bump" it at all

    VideoCapture_20250222-111910.jpg

And the narrower tires having given me back some steering angle helps in transitions like these a lot easier

That's disturbing. That smoke came from something getting hot and melting. Have you had a chance to see if the motor still works?

Might as well test it with direct power on 3s now.

I've tested it with both my furitek esc and my moforc esc now that it has brushless firmware on it. Seems to be fine but idk if the damage has already been done. Idk if this is its full potential or not but seems alright.

Side shot comparison of my 2 rigs. My new turds got some clearance and sits way lower

    Chassis partially assembled

    20250222_140736.jpg

That short front end is really made to compliment their BOA setup

    20250222_140826.jpg

    The links too

    20250222_140812.jpg

Shock mounting up front is on the links due to the BOA

    20250222_140755.jpg

Can't wait to fully flex it

    20250222_140841.jpg

Comes with two trays for the esc and rx, so I'll have to figure out what I want to run

The rear axle is slightly narrower too compared to the front

Supposed to help with climbing/turning and trying to squeeze between gates, something the 4WS users can easily do
