I’m so mentally ill I bought the special coolant grade FIPG for the coolant bypass tube when I was doing the engine in my 04.

That shit was like $80 and I used 1% of the tube.

I'm that way when it comes to bolts with mismatched heads

I will drive 40 minutes to a junkyard to get the "right" bolt

I'm soo mentally ill I think finding a better job will cure depression

Going to the junkyard seems more like a good way to fight depression though.

That UTE Ltd bed is what I'm going with if I ever get the gumption to go for it.

You don't really notice until after you turn 41. Then you are forty something. However, fifties are fabulous.

You're right. I need to make a trip to pick up some OEM spring hose clamps, and assorted JIS spec nuts, bolts, and screws. No chance of finding any Toyotas around here. Once in a great while a 2nd or 3rd gen 4Runner will turn up that had been sitting for 20 years and has vegetation growing in it.

15 years ago, I used Permatex Ultra Grey to seal up a VH45DE -- the gasket less engine. Valve covers and coolant passages all use RTV instead of gaskets. It's still holding and dry as a bone today.

I love Toyota FIPG and actually use it on Nissans today. But I can't complain about Permatex Ultra Grey or conventional black. I did have some of "The Right Stuff" let me down where I should have been using Ultra Grey.

You'll be able to burn the back tires off of that with a lightweight bed like that one.

This came up for 3k locally so I jumped on it. I've always kinda had thing for these after looking at them in the showroom when they were new when I was a little kid. It's 5 speed 4x4, 177k miles, with the head gaskets, timing belt, and most engine seals having been recently replaced. It seems to run really smooth. I'll probably just use it for camping and exploring forestry roads.

I need to get a new chair to use in the driveway and garage while I work on projects. The chars I have tried from HF usually tip over or the wheels break off. I'm ashamed to admit that I'm using the bottom half of an old office chair where the back broke off something like 10 years ago. It has 5 wheels that keep it sturdy. While it is trashy looking, it is lightweight and I can maneuver it around easily.

Nice! Long live the X. Some automatics met an early grave due to the Strawberry Milkshake of Death (SMOD) where the ATF radiator nipples corroded due to dissimilar metals. Hondas had the same issue. The 5MTs never had that issue.

42 was the year all the dumb things I did started catching up with me. Mid 40s have been awesome besides always being sore.

I don't see anything to be ashamed about there. It works and it's paid for.

I'll post it once I get it cut and made.

I'd even be willing to make the cut out parts if you want to weld them together.

I've already collected almost all of the useful parts I can hope to find in the junkyard here. Kinda disappointing to not have as much reason to go anymore. Hopefully I'll be there tomorrow helping a friend look for an OEM radio and wheel for her 4Runner.

Narrow with a short turning radius. A hidden gem.

I'm going to do this rear spring flex mod. It's not that hard to incorporate 80 series mods on a 100. This is more like my terrain.
