My 4g gets better mileage than a 3g.

It does so while swinging bigger tires and producing vastly more torque and useful horsepower, towing better, and riding better

I thought the power seat was removed as Standard Equipment, pretty cool that it came with!

They both don't refine the designs, at least not for years, decades even. Let's talk about timing cover leaks on Toyota engines. The 4.0, the 3.5 and some other Toyota engines were plagued with timing cover leaks. Tons of low mileage trucks leaking oil. Honda has had bad steering rack & pinions since the 10th gen civic. I had mine replaced on my 2022 through warranty. The steering wheel full blown sticks when you are in a turn and doesn't want to come back to center. It's scary. My 2024 civic has a recall for the same exact problem. Did they change the part or fix the issue? No, they kept pumping out the same vehicles with the same problems. Knowing full well they are going to be an issue.

The other problem is you don't hear about the countless thousands upon thousands of owners that have issues. The ones that don't and won't ever make a tacomaworld account, to inform you of their problems online. So the argument of people only come online to complain is completely false.

Driver and passenger 8way seats are part of the upgrade package.

It's also taller and wider people also complain about the mpg. Are these not facts?

Yes, it's taller. And a lot of people lift their trucks, which makes them taller (but doesn't increase ground clearance).

It's wider but only at the fenders, door width is the same. If your doors cleared the parking space/garage before, they still do. A lot of people put wider wheels that puke [sic], that makes them wider.

Some people complain about mpg because they are enthralled by all of the available turbo power. You have the the option for more power or better mpg. Does the previous gen give you that option?

The 2016-23 Tacoma was the biggest slip for Toyota in my opinion …

Let me guess- your previous truck was the 2016, 17 or 18 third gen. I might have agreed with you if you didn’t include the 20+ 3rd gens. In my mind the 22 sr5 (my current daily driver) saved the day for Toyota, so much so that I signed the purchase papers of a 22 Pro on the hood of a 4th gen TRD 4x4 this passed April. …and I paid at least 5 grand more for the 22.

I find the traction this thread has kinda of interesting, on page 9 in the 4th gen forum.
Edit: I put 125k mi. on a 2017 Sr5 and hated every mile of it.

You paid 5k more dollars on a 2022 lol? I owned 5 3rd gen Tacomas and they all had issues, I don’t even have time to write the list of major problems , at 4500 miles on my 2022 the engine had to come out to replace the cylinder head, and a TON of other issues across the trucks. 4th gen is leaps and bounds better in every single way over the 3rd gen. Glad you like them, couldn’t give me one.

If my 3rd gen story with the Taco mirrored yours I’d be driving a Raptor.

I wouldn’t touch a ford with a 20 foot poll even after being burned by Toyota I wouldn’t cross the bridge to another brand that is plagued with even worse issues . 4th gen is everything I wished the 3rd gen could have been

The first time up a mountain pass on my 3G, I knew I wasn't going to sink any more money in it. Was hoping Toyota would correct this and did they ever. 3G was definitely a misstep and yet they still sold a ton.

Right? If you omit the manufacturer from his background you’d guess GM or Ford based on everyone’s “tales” here about the 2.

It's still heavier, taller, wider, and has an engine that will chug gas if you let it. It's going to be a rare occasion that any 4G driver is going to get better fuel economy than the same driver driving a 3G or any other lighter, shorter, more narrower NA truck.
