The leaks are trending towards 7900XT/5070Ti performance at raster. They also are claiming they've caught up to 4070Ti ray tracing performance.

As always, we shall see. Like I've said, my hopes aren't too high. Especially since nVidia's fake 5070Ti price floor, almost no one is getting one for $750 USD, will have people convinced that the rumored $699 price of the 9070Ti will be too high.

When PCIE came out I was stubborn and bought an AGP 6800 GS, got home and realized how stupid I was.

That card died eventually and I learned to start doing homework before buying hardware.

I saw that. Also the defective cards hit customers issue, something to do with a small percentage of cards being faulty.

What's funny is most nVidia fans won't even blink at writing this all off as nothing, where if these were AMD cards those same folks would be screaming for AMD to be shutdown and offer full refunds lol. Just look at the list nVidia has racked up in 20 days with the 50 series:

My first real card was the ATI All In Wonder Pro card my dad got me after graduating - those were my Diablo/Counterstrike days :anonymous:

The first card I bought for gaming was a Matrox G450, I think for Quake and Unreal

I still have that system with the G450. I fired it up about a year ago. Had to replace one of the RAM sticks. I was browsing r/retrobattlestations not long ago, but I have to stay away from there before I start sinking money into a 25 year old PC.

    Dude that's sick

There's really only one case and one PC I regret getting rid of.

The first is my Gateway ESX 500S, which my mom actually financed for me after I built it out on their website. Specs overall I remember being better than the PC I had the Pro card in.

The second is my Thermaltake Armor series case. I still have the entire build that was in that case, but only because I boxed everything up and got rid of the case when I moved.

I'd love to own either that Gateway case or Thermaltake...

Those are nice looking cases. Mine came from the time where cases were all the boring eggshell color. That build was at the end of the AT era, probably couldn't find a new case for it now.

Had some time this evening to get truenas scale on the new server, but my HDD storage wasn’t being seen when I tried to create a storage pool, I made sure the HBA was being seen, made sure it was flashed to IT firmware, even went so far as to plug a SATA cable directly into the MoBo and no luck. I ended up checking one of the HDD’s in an external enclosure with my main PC and it spun right up. It seems that my PSU isn’t outputting the power the Exos 16 HDD needs to power up.
I’m using the SeaSonic FOCUS GX ATX 3 (2024) GX-750 PSU so the I5-12400 and A380 should leave plenty of headroom for peripherals.

Any thoughts? I’ve tried both SATA cables that came with the PSU and I’ve tried both of the ports.

I think it's more likely the HBA isn't telling them to turn on? (bad connection, faulty cable, etc)

I fooled with it after work, I used another power supply to power the drives, they spun up, but didn’t show in the disk section of truenas.
I’m going to try to re-flash the HBA card, I noticed that the HBA card lights are non-functional, so either the reflash will fix it or the card may be bad :notsure:
