    I'm not an HVAC guy. But I can search google.
    Looks like, ideally you set it to the highest time without having frozen coil issues.
    A lot of it is regional, personal preference, and experience.

    Looks like default on Lennox is 90 mins.

    This page was one of the better ones to "explain" the settings.

    Defrost time can be adjusted to cycle at different times for different working conditions. Less time in-between cycles, the shorter defrost lasts. I believe 90 minute defrost cycles can last up to 14 minutes on that unit, so it is a long process if need be. It also has a sensor, so defrost is actually triggered by time, OR temp though. Generally around here it was 90 minutes and forget it, but it does vary.

    I couldn't even begin to tell you how many of these turds I have replaced. I probably still have some NIB on the shelf.

    The heater at my mechanic’s shop, which will run not only on oil and gasoline, but also diesel fuel, transmission fluid, and differential fluid!

    The indoor coil appears to be a York from 1990 as well, but the furnace is a Westinghouse (Nordyne) and probably a decade newer than the rest of the system…

    Like all early 1990s York products, this unit has a reciprocating compressor…

    If we lived close by each other...we could make a killing in scrapping.

    I cannot remember if the 1993 York heat pump that I scrapped last spring had a 3-blade or 4-blade condenser fan, but like the 2007 Lennox heat pump that I cut up on Super Bowl Sunday, the 1990 York straight-cool unit has a 4-blade fan…

    Your Sierra doesn’t have much more bed space than my Taco, but it can tow a much larger trailer, and we could go in on a storage unit to keep the HVAC equipment!

    @Lt. Dangle

    The outdoor unit was manufactured in July 1990 and the indoor coil was manufactured in June 1990. These days, at least from what I’ve seen, indoor coils are universal in that they can be used with both heat pumps and straight-cool units. As you can clearly see here, this coil can only be used with a straight-cool unit; I’m assuming this has something to do with the superheated Freon circulating through the system in heat mode…?

    In the trailer for sure, and I could probably fit a dozen 5-ton condensers or six complete systems in it! However, your bed is the same size as mine, if not a few inches smaller. That's what I was getting at. Also, diesel is more expensive than 87. What kind of mileage does your truck get, both pulling the trailer and not pulling it? My truck gets anywhere from 14 MPG to 22 MPG, depending on a number of factors, and averaged 17 MPG pulling a 16-foot single axle trailer when I helped Amanda move.

    The 1990 York has one of the most interesting indoor coil designs I’ve ever seen…

    oh we could fit a lot more than that in the trailer. I would smash those down with a tractor.

    11-12 MPG at 26k lbs at 65-75 mph. empty I have no idea. 18-21.

    Smash the metal down with the tractor, but rip the condensers out first. As per @Lt. Dangle, it's most cost effective to rip out the condensers and fold them...
