It's a 2005 w/VVTI. It's a shame sort of because that extra power from this engine would be nice in the (much better condition) 2003 Tundra I'm getting soon.

Got black for my rails, bumper, and intercooler protector (plus whatever else) and decided to full send on the nardont grey for the body, mirrors, bed, and electronics panel I built for the bed...

 

Kinda looks like the lunar rock color

 

kinda; I got the sampler kit to look at options - almost overwhelming. I wanted something a bit grey and easy to patch/manage long term with it likely sitting out all the time.

I otherwise would have gone for their neon green or barbaric (barbie) pink.

 

I'm sure it's been done but that sounds like a hellish project. My neighbor did pull up and tell me he had a plasma table and offered to cut some stuff for me. So if anything this 4Runner made the guy stop and talk to me lol.

I'm at my limit with all the yapping dogs my neighbors own. They bark like that all day even when I'm not making noise.

They clearly sprayed to cover the rust -- that cronch on the hatch gave me the creepies. lol.

But the engine seems solid -- so win win win if you can turn that to something.

100% a spray paint the rusty frame black and the body tan to hide rocker panel rust.

The VVTI 2UZ has less support as far as custom engine harnesses go. If I decided trying to shove it into my 99 Tacoma was a good idea. In all reality I need a title so first things first is registering it with the auction receipt. It appears Texas won't charge me presumptive value on it since it was purchased at a government auction. So that's a win, they'd tax me blue book value for excellent condition otherwise.

 

I've had mostly good luck with NM MVD here on salvage titles and further our "homemade homemad roadster" when we built out an exocet. Bypassed several state requirements unintentionally.
