Good thing is it’s so heavy duty if you scratch it up can just sand the paint back and repaint it black again

Maybe, but 4Runners have been okay at off roading with a 4-link mount for years

Ugliest thing about the fourth gen is the behavior of 3rd gen owners around it

Nah the only ugly thing is the snow plow. Everything else seems to fit the look just fine.

If you kept the snow plow and added side skirting that matched you could cover up the rear suspension hardware. The end result would be much uglier.

Toyota could have designed a traditional truck bumper which could sit lower and the air dam could have been shorter and may blend in better. But it's easy enough to remove.

    Apparently many dislike the tailpipe.

I forgot about the tail pipe. I'd like to change that to one of those axle dump TH tips. Or once I see it acknowledge it isn't the prettiest thing to look at move on and never worry about it again.

You know it’s a handsome truck when the only items that we’re left to complain about aesthetically are underneath the truck.

The 4Runner’s trailing arm extends about 18 inches forward of the rear wheel. The 4G Tacoma’s looks like it’s close to 30 inches long.

    Anyone know why?

    I don’t own a 3rd gen Tacoma any longer, I have owned 10 Toyota trucks, the pre-Tacoma 1994 and the rest were 1st, 2nd & 3rd gens. I won’t be purchasing a 4th gen.

And…to really wake up your Cheerios, my new Nissan Frontier extended cab, with extra cab doors that actually open lol, should arrive this week.

Cool. I’m happy you found a truck you like.

the same cannot be said of many people’s feelings toward the truck we 4g owners found to like.

It’s a truck…I care about mine, you care about yours and 4th gen owners care about theirs, but all of us feel differently about each others.

The internet is for entertainment and information, it’s not life.

The difference being, of course, that 4g owners aren’t in the Nissan or 3g forums cheering for the misfortune of others ;)

No vehicle is perfect, the OP actually owns a 4th gen. Sticks and stones my friend, words are just that…

PS, have a great day

Not sure about the 4R , but Total Chaos makes upper and lower arms for the Tacoma (same part # for Tundra/Sequoia) and the LC250. Different part number for the LC but all I see is an extra bracket/tab. Appear to be the same length. LC and 4R have the same wheelbase so parts should be the same?
