We still talking Supercross or just a "let's shit on Sexton" thread?

Lot's of crashes through the night in 250's and 450's. I lost count at how many riders I saw wash the front in that sand section. Unsure of the schedule or who is doing the track design that section was just asinine to be built like that.

 

Nobody here is trying to take Sexton down. If we just give it a bit, he'll do it all on his own.

 

He's having a bad run at the moment, that's for sure. Given the KTM financial drama I hope he can pull off another championship to keep his value up for another team. This whole year seems to be taking riders down and out of the hunt over stupid mistakes and bad luck. At this rate Malcolm, Barcia or Justin Hill may win a title.

 

Idk if anyone here listens to Swap, but Chase (the editor, not the racer) got hit by a bike in 450 lcq and broke his ankle pretty bad. Freak accident.

I saw that. Feel bad for the guy. Going to be a rough recovery since he already has hardware in his leg.

 

He had a bad get off at Fox earlier in 2024 too. Cracked his pelvis, broken collarbone, and lacerated liver. Kid can’t catch a break.

 

That's rough. Dude is like only 25 too. Wish him a speedy recovery and the Drs can figure out how to fix that break

Jordan Smith didn't have a good night either. He was riding great too. Bummed to loose him in the 250w class

 

I was watching the post race interview and Sexton said he knew he had the overall where he was but he still wanted to go for the win in the third race. It's hard for me to have sympathy when he knew he had the overall but still threw it away for P1.

 

Just call em like I see em. Sexton would have the title damn near locked up if not for a series of unfortunate dumb mistakes. Hes consistently one of the fastest in qualifying and on race day. BUT.... then he does what he does. Sucks for him but self inflicted.
Hes the most noteworthy 450 and eye catching boneheads right now. Roczen and Webb are riding good, but with most of the heavy hitters out injured its more about how Sexton will fuck it up than it is about who else is riding well. Webb has a shot but even riding as well as he was Sexton still had the overall AND the red plate.
Davies looked good last race, but more Deegan being Deegan. If he rides like that the rest of the season nobody is at his level. Juju being disappointing, Shimoda not consistent enough bc his injury, star yamaha taking most of the podium slots. is 250W isnt as interesting

 

I didn’t realize how bad an injury Smith sustained. Punctured lung and broken ribs. Ouch.

 

Yeah he’s gonna be out for a while. Punctured long is no joke

 

Davies is still the fastest on the track right now. If he can shake the rookie mistakes he’s going to start stringing wins together. I read a report that Beaumer dislocated his shoulder for a moment in that wild qualifying crash he had, and was salvaging points in Arlington. Not sure how much water that holds, but we’ll find out soon I’m sure.

 

I can agree with the mistakes part and hope he gets his head cleared for the remainder of the season...that many crashes on these tracks is like "borrowed time" before he takes himself out for a season.

 

Saw weege posted a clip. 2 yrs in a row someone went down right behind Webb last lap. Last year Jett clipped a lapper went from 2nd to 4th. Maybe Webb has Dallas figured out

 

darn lappers! Id say the lapper in the whoops couldnt do much do get out of Jett mid run. For sexton that was just overagressive, the lapper was riding the berm high trying to stay out of the way and Sexton boneheaded. Jett also landed on a tough block on a tripple a few laps and crashed before that too. good racing.

 

From the horses mouth "It’s been three weeks in a row of stupid stuff" Sexton. Webb looks good, Roczen has been good. But IF he drops the boneheads (getting stuck on the gate!) the title will be his. He's been fast qualifier and fast race lap darn near every week. big if though.

Webb and Sexton are going to battle it out. both past champs. But Sexton is faster consistently, but dumb. Webb solid and consistent. His title to lose at this point with the red plate and consistency. But if sexton can lose the boneheads he's much faster.

 

Chase will stop making dumbass mistakes and blow #2 away for the championship.
