    Different forum, but others disagree.

Need to be smarter than what you read & decifer what is bs on the internet, everyone has an opinion...
The truck isnt any louder with a dump pipe...
The pipe doesnt dump "below / within the cabin"....
It dumps 2 feet behind the cabin in the bed area.....

Ive had to be very sensitive to various harshness, done, vibration symptoms in my 32 years dealing with various customer over the years as theyre cry babies when their $60-$120k trucks dont feel like a Cadillac.....
    The dump doesnt change anything......

Well, in my 46 years of hotrodding (started at 15 and years seem to be important), I've added and removed resonators on more than one occasion. If your opinion is drone doesn't matter, fine. If your opinion is resonators don't affect sound, we'll have to agree to disagree.

It does effect sound to an extent but in this specific situation it's so minuscule its really irrelevent here...
For those that think its harsh now or it louder while driving, its in their head, placebo effect....
They made a change & they want it to be louder so they convinced themselves...

If you sit at the pipe & listen to it with your ear right there, it has a lower deeper tone, very slight...
Nothing youre going to notice driving it, will act no different than stock pipe.

Then why do all vehicles with the exception of the TH (there may be a handful of others I am unaware of) have a full length tail pipe? And most have a resonator too.

Cuz its ideal & not everyone is going to buy a truck with a hacked-up tailpipe...
Mr Jones will be like wtf, you couldn't finish it....

Im telling you, I cant notice any difference driving my truck around with the 6th element dump pipe....
I had a muffler shop do a quick fab prior to anything being produced & got the same results, nothing...
So the 6th element was little larger overall pipe diameter & due to the smoking deals they had early-on, I jumped on it...
    Still quiet, no drone....
Red the reviews, plenty of folks state the same....
Yes, if you have your windows down, you floor the truck with your head out the window....
It may sound a fuzzzz different, but not really....
    Its all in their head...

I’d be careful with how much you publicize that mod. That tailpipe design was patented years ago…

I'd like to see the turn-down meet plane, and exhaust straight to the ground, but it looks rugged. Make ya wanna give that Tool Man grunt.

Looks good. I did something similar, but cut mine off perpendicular. I like how yours has a slight turn down. I also painted my resonator with the heat resistant black spray paint. It helps hide the resonator a bit more.

OP, I plan to do something similar. Thanks for sharing the photos.

I've love to see a photo of yours too. I plan to cut the tailpipe off after the resonator also(maybe closer to where it flares out). I don't really do any major off-roading but it I find the OEM pipe a bit unsightly hanging so low and so far to the rear.

Edited to add: "maybe closer to where it flares out"

I bought and then installed a Trail Pipe months ago. Completely forgot about it. That's how much a difference it made.

Mine’s noticeably different at idle and initial acceleration with the trail pipe and resonator removed.

not distracting or loud, but different.

    no noticeable difference at cruise
