What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Upgraded my tailgate panel thanks to @Irons . No more painful knees when climbing up on the tailgate and a fancy spot to put down a drink!

 

Installed my multi mount panel (I know, not a dessert does it) for some under seat storage... Leatherman and flash light will be in the side pocket. Also had to swap the bedlights, the Amazon cheapos lasted two years. Bought some OEMs this time.

Haha, not sure. They may even get the emails, but the phone number is direct to their department. I forget the guys name that does all the online shopping shipping, but he does a great job of taking care of the customer.

 

No. But high end power noticeably increased after doing the y pipe.

So it measures the steering wheel left and right, from center? Sorry, I've never heard of this part before.

News to me!! Makes sense though.

 

Clock springs started being used for airbags when you needed a more secure connection from the air bag to the steering column, and now with steering wheel controls, it is even more useful...

The old systems before clock springs (air bags) used slip rings (basically metal rubbing on metal while turning the wheel) that could sometimes have intermittent connections for cruise control and the horn...

 

Just got off the phone with the online parts guy, he pulled the 2 missing O-Rings and mailing them out today... No issues (so far)...

Congratz on the 4Runner! I just saw the TFL comparison between the 4R and the new Land Cruiser. Impressive off road manners for both!

 

Dude. Just dug through all the leftover boxes and bags from the Stage 4 Lift Kit. NO SPANNER WRENCH included in a (IMHO) fairly expensive kit. Kinda' bummed. I've been modifying cars for forty years and rarely had a component not include the necessary tools to utilize the benefits of said component. This, especially from JDM parts. Japan never disappointed.

Just spent another $100, for two spanner wrenches. to adjust my fancy adjustable suspension. Sheesh...

 

I feel like these are popular w/ tuners, they are useless especially with spacers. You might have a 2” spot with no mud.

 

I'd wonder if that wash has attendants? Looking at that damage I'd say a vehicle went through before you covered in mud. You come thru and it's like washing your car with sandpaper.

I test drove one of those yesterday. A TRD off road premium in underground grey. Hopefully you've had the chance to drive one before ordering.

I could feel every ripple in the road. The small imperfections in the road were the most noticeable. If you drove over a quarter I could tell you if it was heads or tales. It lacked any power for acceleration and freeway merging and had uncomfortable hard plastics on the upper door panels. The 5th gens are a much better vehicle.

You might like it though. I do like the green Everest color, but that's about it.
