Remember the Thunderbird had the cool sequential tail lights?

This is what made them work - kind of...
Now you can get an electronic controller for them.

They don’t do crack here, mostly Mt. Dew/Mello Yello and opioids. And meth, cause it’s cheap!

They still do… it’s just a mess to find, behind a pay wall (TechStream).
Used to be you could order the paper book from HELM.

I had a 67 Cougar with sequential turn signals (and vacuum motor headlights doors). The sequential operation was controlled by a small motor with three stepped cams along with a rats nest of wires and relays.

    Here is the motor:

    upload_2025-2-26_19-25-30.png

    And the relay collection:

    upload_2025-2-26_19-26-36.png

    And the magical device:

    unnamed.jpg

You can hear them from outside the car "tink, tink, tink, tink".

With an upscale interior, hidden headlights & full width tail lights the Cougar really had a classy look over the Mustang it was based on.

I still joke at work about starting a harbor freight tool truck.

The strategy is pretty simple, making direct-to-you sales of established products with a 10-15% markup to cover expenses...

Honestly, the part that keeps me away from it is the loan shark part. Having to chase people down for their payments is always rough, especially in this economy.

My supervisor used to run a snap-on truck(employee for the franchise owner). He loves new tools as much if not more than me. Being able to sell tools for a decent profit would be a lot of fun for me.

But what really hurt it was chasing people for the money. He said towards the end of his time doing it, it became 10% selling new stuff and 90% chasing people down for money/repossessing on non-payment.

He said his point of quitting was when he got direct verbal approval from 25 people to run their cards for their monthly payment, and 24 were immediately declined.

Oh man. That show was always hilarious. The creativity of the episode plots and Bryan Cranstons gift of acting.:101010:

edit: The soundtracks were :101010: too.

Good morning shop crew. I'm helping one of my little old lady neighbors out and replacing her burnt out headlight bulb. One of the local shops she took it to wanted $95 to swap it out. I realize I’ll probably need to take a fender liner loose to get to it but that’s not $95 worth of labor.

    Have a great day!
