Definitely wasn't the goal to go wider than the standard 05+ SD width, but the 15/43-17 Mickey's made the fit too tight. Main trails I'm concerned about now are the ones down in the Quray/Silverton/Telluride area, haven't made it down that way yet, so I'm not too familiar with the width of the trails down there.

I was already pretty wide even for IFS, so I'm used to the ride, and since I don't daily the truck street friendly is pretty low on my list, but it's still on the list, as I do drive to the trail.

    Why such a big/wide tire?

Didn't really have the funds to get the slightly smaller (less wide) but more expensive 42" Trepadors, and didn't really want to go to the Boss M/T's after running the Pro XS's the past couple years, so I didn't have too many options. And I've really like the Baja's so I stuck with that model. I don't think I'll be too negatively impacted, but like I said above, I wouldn't feel comfortable doing Schofield again, not saying I wouldn't fit, but it'd be tight. But I can't think of any other trails I've run where it would be an issue.

Anybody have experience with electric tankless water heater? Good, bad, ugly? Would be for a 1 bath, 1 occupant home under 1000sqft

I had a tankless combination boiler / water heater installed about 9 months ago, replacing a 30 year old model with a tank. For domestic hot water, it's great, I haven't ever run out of hot water. The interaction between domestic hot water usage and space heating wasn't what I was expecting though.

My domestic hot water uses a separate pump to circulate water in the hot water loop, annnnd, when domestic hot water is in use, it gets priority and I don't get water circulating in the space heating loop. I figured this out a month or so ago when we had a week of high temps in the single digits, and the house wasn't getting heated because the domestic hot water loop was running all day. This was "fixed" by programming the external pump to only circulate water in the domestic hot water system for 30 minutes, then off for 1.5 hours so the space heating loop could heat the house. You can get hot water out of a faucet or the shower whenever you want, but if the pump on the domestic side has been off and the space heating loop has been running, it might take a minute.
    Hope that makes sense.

TLDR: If its only heating domestic hot water, no complaints so far. If you are also using it for space heating (in floor radiant heat, baseboard radiators, etc), YMMV, make sure you research how the unit works.

Edit: and I just saw the Electric part, I'm using natural gas, so who knows if my experience applies.

I had an electric tankless water heater and would have stuck with it but I have more than one occupant and noticed it couldn’t keep up with multiple appliances/faucets that well.

Given one occupant I assume it will work out fine for you.

Just FYI: with my gas tankless, it takes significantly longer to get hot water to the faucet (same run length) than the conventional tank.

So much so that I don’t even bother washing my hands in warm water anymore and tend to use cold water most of the time for everything. Otherwise the water is running for 45 - 60 seconds before it gets warm. To me that’s a waste of time and water.

I stuck with a gas tank when I replaced my heater a few years ago. The main reason was the cost to retrofit a PVC vent (as required by modern high-efficiency water heaters) into an old house. In hindsight, I wish I had just spent the money, if nothing else it would have freed up floor space in my basement.

Venting probably isn't a concern with an electric heater though, so I might just be rambling

Is it just me, or does it seem like the price keeps going up, while the quantity keeps going down? Eating a "whole box" of GSC isn't what it used to be.

The CEO of Girl Scouts of the United States of America, Bonnie Barczykowski receives a total compensation package of $687,756 in pay and $44,376 in other compensation (probably thin mints). it comes from taking advantage of the society’s heartstrings and the feel-goodness of helping kids that are panhandle pushing cookies.. not by giving us more cookies after we have already been swindled.

That's pretty modest pay for the CEO of an organization with 2.5 million "employees".
