“Google has quietly installed an app on all Android devices called ‘Android System SafetyCore’. It claims to be a ‘security’ application, but whilst running in the background, it collects call logs, contacts, location, your microphone, and much more making this application ‘spyware’ and a HUGE privacy concern. It is strongly advised to uninstall this program if you can. To do this, navigate to 'Settings’ > 'Apps’, then delete the application.” - Forbes

Sofia had a fever last night so I feel your pain, I suspect it will trickle down to the rest of us by the end of the week

That's very interesting... I removed it from my phone but the nature of its method of install (installing over mobile without approval to do so) means it will probably keep coming back. Seems like a problematic way to introduce a new core feature.

    That sucks

Stephanie only had a bit of a sore throat some 2 days ago but she's been just fine - she thinks I got it from her and well, being a teacher she's around a bunch of snot-nosed kids

When Theo's in school, my immune system is gonna take a beating regardless of how rare it is that I get sick :bananadead:

It appears it is a framework component for content moderation (ie unwanted sent nudes and whatnot) that unlike other services that are similar from Apple and Meta leverages your phones power to content match rather than sending bits to the cloud. Still concerning though, and given that apps can choose to leverage it, it will likely be required for functionality at some point. Hopefully after some more transparency though. Something like this required people to program it... IMHO it is their responsibility to leak its functionality and permissions even if big daddy Google says that's a no-no.

We buy emergenC from Costco in pallets, not sure it really does anything but make me feel like I'm being healthier

On an unrelated note, I am genuinely surprised to find only two companies on Etsy that make stool cushions.

Not stool cushions that lay on a wooden stool, or those empty cases you plop a pillow in, but an actual replacement stool top.

Both are in the UK and neither use t-nuts. I understand just screwing into a wood base would be adequate, but I really hoped that I could request T-nuts to be installed first since I would have to remove the staples and take the stool apart just to install the T-nuts on the appropriate side.

Not sure if I want to take a stab at making my own. I could, but it's the leather-choice (thickness) and sizing that makes me second guess things.
