I don't think anyone likes to do insulation...

which is why I think I'm going to just grab the foam board for my shop walls

I dont mind it. Used to hate it but it really is fairly fast work and not too itchy if you keep off the pink

Home office update, drywall and paint done, have moved onto the drop ceiling and I’m having a ton of fun with it actually.

First time installing anything like it, so it’s not professional but it looks good. The fan kit was neat to install.

Small, day job today for a long time friend/customer. Old Farmhouse with nothing square/plumb. Lined this shallow closet (105"H x 50"W x 17"D) with locally milled white pine shiplap and added some shelves of same white pine (1×5). Attached the shiplap with liquid nails and brad nails (hidden behind the shelf cleats). Old plaster & wood lathe, so nails were holding nicely for the adhesive to setup. They were going for the rustic look.

My daughter's farmhouse kitchen has a similar looking cupboard/pantry. Looking in the basement/cellar you can see the remains of the dumbwaiter that the cupboard was part of. I think they would have perishables on the dumbwaiter, pull it up to the kitchen, lower when done. Kinda like a cooler or fridge in the 1880's.

Rub your arms with baby powder prior next time. It helps to keep the fiberglass out of your pours

Makes perfect sense as that what he'll look like anyway when doing drywall later.

know the feeling of not square walls. my farmhouse was build in 1908, framing things in the house always involves at least some shims, and in a rare occasion I have to open a wall and add some framing! then the remodeled side is usually decent

A 2-minute cold shower when you're done also works wonders. The cold water contracts your pores and squeezes any fiberglass that got in them out. That said, insulation still sucks but not nearly as bad as drywall. lol

Lol, a hot shower has always worked for me. Opens up the pores to get the fiberglass out, is what I was told.

I've done both and cold is definitely the way to go.

Yeah this also backfires if the fiberglass is a little too deep it can get closed up in your pores.

Installed these units today. Had some issues with humps in the drywall causing the drawers to not line up as nice as I preferred. A little chipping away and all is good.

Yes, but it's below the floor, accessed from the basement. One of those old brass drum traps. That was all done months before my involvement.

To each their own. I would have ordered a vanity from HD with a sink/counter that hides all the plumbing.

I'll probably be asked to build a small box to hide it all.

Couldn’t get the heat to shut off in the wife’s office and the spare room. Left to go to work and text my neighbor, who’s a plumber. To ask a few questions. Said he would be home in a minute and if my wife was there he could take a look at it. Wife texted me later and said he ran out to buy some parts. Before I left he texted me he had to change a valve on the pump that was not closing and he didn’t like the thermostat so he changed that too. Asked me to check it when I got home. Get home everything’s working great. Text him to let me know how much I owe him and he replies “nothing you’re all set. I said at least let me pay for the parts. He says you don’t owe me anything that’s what neighbors are for. Couldn’t ask for a better neighbor.
