so i got to ride the little xr last night and it is not fast but thats a given but it has decent amount of pep in its step. its super easy to maneuver and very forgiving on the clutch and such. i will say my fav thing is the seat! it is insanely comfy!

Hell yeah! That's awesome and quite a stroke of luck. CA dealers won't deal at all, it's pretty much take it or leave it lol at least in my experience.

That's awesome! What a beautiful bike. Also $3100 OTD is crazy when they had it for $3800 haha.

Found a solid rear wheel for the Harley $150 shipped and will bolt right up. Found it in the Harley forum I belong to. No more worry about rear spokes or tubes.

So I did the season opener track day this past weekend at Thunderhill East. I signed up for B group because it was the first day back. I did struggle with body positioning just because I felt so stiff and sore, so I do have to hit the gym and work on my exercises, but overall it felt pretty good. I did have a slide where I almost highsided and also tried testing out the brakes in the last session by braking as deep as possible and ended up doing a stoppie at 60 mph. Other than that the bike did great.

    Here is some footage:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wzjPyamWY8

I rode with an instructor (guy in orange vest on the S1000RR) and he said I should try racing, so I've ordered a generator and am going to buy some slick tires and tire warmers for next time.

I'm also selling the Grom to afford all this. I"m not sure what it's worth. I'm hoping for $2800 but would probably take $2500 at this point.

Nice! maybe we'll race each other one day. but you look faster than I do lol. scary little slide there, I had one this past weekend too on a cleaned up oil spill. nothing like that to make you pucker lol. I'm curious, did you notice the weight difference when you went to track fairings?

putting my 2 cents, i picked up the Yamaha 2200 generator for just over $500 (half as much as Honda, slightly more fuel capacity, and similar decibel level albeit a bit louder) and SportBikeTrackGear has the Woodcraft dual temp warmers for our smaller bikes for about $400 for a set after fees. Doubt you'll need the dual temp functionality but they seem to be reputable and cheaper than most.

I really don't need to watch shit like this. I have never ridden on a track, but I loved to get into the twisties back when I had a GSXR. I bet that is a blast. Off to FB marketplace to daydream about a baby track bike

On the generator. I bought the Predator quiet one last year. No complaints at all. I went bigger with the 3500. If I had it to do over, I would probably have gone with the 2000 one.

Well since the weather is clear and somewhat warmer (59) I decided it was time to insure the Harley and the GSXR 750. The perks of being old is cheaper insurance. Adding the Harley with an agreed value of $11,500 with full coverage and the GSXR 750 full coverage it increased $245 per year. So total with the monkey, wife’s scooter, Klx, Harley and GSXR it’s $445 per year for all of them.
