I just showed my wife your post. The new Milwaukee set I bought to install my lift, stays in my truck "just in case". She thought I nuts.

I’m thinking about these springs. I had a store here tell me I need new shocks for the rear even with the constant weight I carry. This was the first time in this store. With the guys attitude I’m not sure if he was trying to upsell me with more parts or if they are actually necessary. I do use the taco with weight I originally hadn’t planned to carry. My work truck died so now my taco is also a work truck now. I have a mid rise camper shell and a bed full of tools.
That’s a constant load back there every day. During the summer I pull the tools from the top of the platform and load camping gear. I’m not currently looking to lift it, but keep it from sagging. Do you think these springs would work for my current setup at stock height?

These springs will work for you if set at option 3. Option 1 and 2 wouldn’t be an option as it will sag badly. The shop wasn’t trying to upsell you. They’re right about new shocks. The reasoning behind it is that these leafs have a lot more droop/down travel. If your still on factory shocks they will max out extension (top out) and could rip apart as the leafs still have a lot more down travel. The also, going with larger shocks like Bilstein 5100 will offer better valving for all that weight your carrying. New shocks won’t add lift

Installed Hammer Hangers about a month ago. Significant ride improvement and helped my bounce some. Went up to option 2 yesterday and it rides even better. Sitting right at 1.5” lift with roughly 400lbs in the back. Still some bounce that annoys me but I’m thinking it’s my shocks at this point. I think the 2.0’s struggle to recover well with the weight I’m at, especially since they aren’t tuned.

I emailed Accutune to see what they recommend, but I’m thinking I’ll upgrade to 2.5 Fox or King somewhat soon.

Soooo it’s okay to run 5100’s in the back with weight on Option 2?

I have a shell, Yakima racks, fly rod holder, rocket box, and pull a small boat….a lot!

I don’t do off roading but only on fire roads and occasional rocky put in for my boat.

Someone I know recommended the icon leaf pack over the OME, and I have the 5100s

option 2. Always loaded and tow a boat very often. Put 5100’s all around. Clip #4 on front suspension so says 1.5”. Didn’t measure before and after. Rides like a dream and no plans for 285s. I love my 265s.

Thank you. I painted the wheels. Went through 2 sets of geo MT’s. Real quick. Radial pull after getting old. On road manners also just wanted a better ride on the street.Just got tired of the MT’s. I’m regeared to 4.88’s so it’s even better shedding weight. So far the Atw 4 are fantastic. Also CLoad so awesome.

Installed option 3 last night. Forgot to measure but certain gained *AT LEAST 1.5" in the rear because I had to let some air out of the rear tires to get out of the garage.:anonymous:
Took it for a drive and it felt great not overly stiff and no vibrations on the freeway. This is with 400lbs in the bed, installing a drawer in the next few weeks so it might drop a pinch moreIMG_3496.jpg

Just changed to option 2 over the weekend, will be installing a GFC style camper in the spring. Coming from option 1, option 2 feels supportive and like stock.

Option 2, semi loaded 3 day camping trip with the boat. I kind of wish I would have went option 3. But i might have been too raked out for the 4th clip on the Bilstein 5100 up front. I would go 5th clip maybe and option 3 had I known how much the boat and gear was sagging it.
