Doug Thorley Short Tube Headers with Cats (2012-2015)

I have a set of Doug Thorley short tube headers with Vibrant high flow cats mounted to them for 2012 to 2015 trucks. Also have a set of gaskets for the heads and y pipe. The y pipe gaskets are from URD. I will also include ARP SS exhaust studs and nuts along with y pipe springs, nuts, and bolts, and the air injection gaskets.

After doing a bunch of research I pieced together everything needed to swap these on but the nuts on my truck are a little bit to rusty for me to want to attempt it. I also have other things that I need to buy, so these have to go.

These have been mounted and used by the previous owner.

As far as I am aware any short tube header requires you to add cats to them. I could not find any JBA headers that had cats already installed.

 

You are correct. he is referring to having the carb OE very for CA. for 2012-2015 only JBA as far as we know has an OE carb cert.

 

exactly what I was looking for, very tempting.. How many miles you think on the CATs? any chance post pic looking into the CATs from the flange?

 

I have no idea how many miles are on the cats. Here are some pictures though one of each cat. They supposedly have a warranty as per the person I bought them from but I wouldn't count on that.

too bad they never finished the Carb approval. I have a couple new sets of these as well. Would even consider snagging these if that CARB OE was there. Likely neve will happen now.

 

Very doubtful considering they are over 10 years old at this point. However they also seem to be relatively rare so there were prolly only a couple hundred sets ever made.

 

yah totally I was holding out a few years ago before the 8 year mark passed on my truck. I have 2 BNIB sets. It is interesting though as they are the same for the SAIS setups but how they made each one is slightly different.

I was holding out but will need to unload like you are.

JBA flat out said they will never make them again due to the low sales. He almost laughed when I called since many sites had incorrect years for the 4runner setup that noted it worked on the Tacoma too.

 

I ended up selling my truck before installing these, it didn't make much sense to struggle with a rusty 140k mile truck sobhere we are.
