Flood or combo. Less hood glare with combo running the spot towards the road and flood to the ditch.

One of my 6112s is officially leaking after 90k miles. Looks like I've made it to about spring. Time to gather the rest of the components I'll need for the suspension swap.

That's a good life out a coilover. It's nice having something that won't rot away and need rebuilt in 20,000 miles. What are you going to replace it with?

I wanted to lean into spending more but honestly they served me well so I think I'm going same route but with 650lb coils instead if the 600lb ones. I'll also wrap them in clear vinyl before assembly. Making sure to not have vinyl where the snap ring goes

You can get some covers from accutune that are designed to fit over 2.5" body offroad coilovers.
I had a set of 6112/5160s on my 1st gen tacoma and 3rd gen 4runner. If you want to try something different, i really like the Koni 82 series shocks i had on my Nissan and with a leaf spring setup I felt they rode better on the road. There is no height adjustment though. You can adjust the rebound on front and rear though. You can get the front assembled with heavy coils and the rear shocks for $1000. If you stick with 6112s, they are a great choice too.

Then they have it on file. I would at least try before buying anything. Worst case you waste a few minutes.

I have a set of 6112 on 650 springs if you need something to get you thru while the warranty goes thru. @EricM lives close to you and I see him like once a week.

Thanks. I'd rather just install once. Buy a set and then try to warranty the others. I'll need to pressure wash they hell out of them. Maybe put then in a bucket of dawn lol pretty sure I still have the receipt.

I know we're anti-Jeep here but are there any Jeep dealerships we like south of Boston for service? Anyone gone to Route 24 in Brockton?

Central in Raynham just blew up a nine year and 95,000 mile service relationship by inferring I don't maintain the wife's Jeep when I tried to warranty a leaking transfer case under Maxcare.

    Sweet Fusion.

Wrong transmission and salvage title certainly drops the value down. A friend has a pair of AMs amongst a collection of other exotics and they're certainly cheaper than a comparable Ferrari / Porsche of the era.

I didn't notice the salvage until after I had posted. This one certainly stuck out as a 2015 Volante among 2010-ish range otherwise. But the 30-50k range, there's a ton of options out there both DB7 and DB9s. I googled it as a joke, pretty much, to see what they're going for (I know I can find used Cayennes on FBM and Craigslist in decent enough shape for 10-15k all day long, if not cheaper).

Still, 45k ish for a V12? Cheaper than a new Tacoma......

Nothing is more expensive than a cheap luxury / exotic car, though.

I briefly considered an AM when I was getting my current whip but the nearest dealer is two hours away...that's a long ride in the cab of a flatbed tow truck.

    And that's a probability not a possibility.

Some of the Cayennes (I don't know enough about them other than a cursory look) are pretty reliable engines, they're basically a VW in a tuxedo. Lords knows on an Aston, I can only assume $$$$$

"You need to be rich to buy a new BMW, you need to be wealthy to own a used BMW"

    99.9% probability.

    Also....

    upload_2025-2-28_15-11-11.png

That's the thing with a lot of those cheap older supercars, they're dirt cheap but the maintenance is bananaland. For half the cost, and 10% of the maintenance cost, I could get a Miata I enjoy driving because I'm not thinking "Okay, this 10 mile drive is 4.22$/mile plus gas, unless I go this way which is 12 miles, but the tires will wear less, which might be less than the oil" etc.

    Miata: yay redline
    AM: Oh shit redline
