i have a freind pumping on the brakes while i open the screw, but very little to almost no fluid is coming out of either side.

any help. don’t want to have to call a mobile mechanic.

Does this Truck have ABS, if so it's my understanding that you can't just do regular bleed job.

Did you cap the lines off when you did the calipers to minimize fluid loss?

Bleeding an ABS truck is no different than a non-ABS truck in terms of the process. With an ABS truck it's important to keep fluid in the ABS modulator, cause you can't directly bleed it- gotta activate the modulator somehow.

How much is the pedal traveling when your friend is pressing on it?

What do the brakes feel like when you pump them up. Does it get tight really quick or is the brake pedal mushy. It could be a faulty Master Cylinder. Hopefully a brake Guru will chime in here.

I'm not really sure what happened initially. Originally, we put someone in the car to pump the brakes 3 times and then hold it down, and then I would release the valve and nothing came out. So I called my neighbor over who's a mechanic. He suggested maybe we weren't pumping the brakes hard enough or holding them down hard enough. After adjusting our technique, it started working.

Begin push, crack bleeder, hold, close bleeder.

I cannot say enough good things about the Motiv power bleeder + a Toyota MC adaptor (sold separately). It makes such a huge difference.

    Glad you got it resolved.

Hey Andy, which version do you suggest for the Motiv power bleeder? I saw there is a 1100 and a 1103 online. Or is there a newer version??

That M shaped spring goes onto one pin on Tundra calipers. It uses that M style spring instead of that larger, flat anti-rattle spring in between your calipers in the picture. Pic is a rando from the web.

Had to look at my order history- I have the 0101 "Universal" kit, but I ditched the universal part that interfaces with the MC for a "43mm master cylinder bleeder adaptor". Maybe it's different now, but motiv themselves didn't sell something specific for Toyota at the time. I used the universal one once, and it was a terrible experience. The right adaptor makes all the difference in the world. My wrenching savvy friends show up all the time to borrow it.

I like the color and how you matched the color on the rims. What rims are they?
