Wheel Spacer Help

Im looking for some wheel spacers and need some help.

So far Ive found two distinct types:

-Ones you slide onto your lugs, put the wheel over it and bolt them both on.

-And then the ones you bolt on to your lugs and then bolt the wheel onto the spacer.

I dont want more than an inch and Im not looking to spend a fortune so I looking at some 5/16" spacers that slide onto the lugs.

First question: Will these potentially unbalance my tires?
Second: Am at risk of short threading my wheels?

the ones with separate lugs on them, those are adapters, those are the ones you want. im actually just about to place an order on allprooffroad.com but im just trying to figure out the hubcentric vs lugcentric issue. There are some people selling them on here too.

 

does spidertrax make a set for you, i would highly recommend them over any other spacer due to their great feedback and solid reputation

Yes, you will lose 5/16" of threads. I will never take that risk on my truck. Reconsider your options. Either a bolt on adapter or wheels with the correct backspacing.
