    While I usually go to Tecate or Calexico to cross south, Tijuana has always been easy, especially if you need to get a new FMM (tourist card) as it has the best parking and facility (the building by the giant flagpole, something to declare lane, on the right). Mexicali West is the next easiest place to get an FMM, IMO.

    From there (Tijuana border), just take the 'Scenic Road' Mex 1-D to head south. I know there was a big road repair before you reach Playas de Tijuana, from the road collapse after heavy rains, last year (or was it two years ago?).

    Friends live in or near Loreto... and I am an hour from Tijuana, or a little less. However, Highway 5 via San Felipe and Gonzaga Bay is the quicker route to Loreto since the paving was completed in 2020.

    Here is my Tacoma at Playa Ligüí, 21 some miles south of Loreto, looking at Isla Danzante:

    Welcome to the porch OnOff, BTW, Ken forgot to mention that it's your turn to fill the cooler!

    Fixed something that needed fixin for a few years today :rolleyes:! Installed new plugs in the garden tractor this morning and then decided to fix a slow reverse creep that it had developed while in neutral, got the manual out and it looked easy to do, loosened a nut, made a 1/4 turn adjustment on another nut, and the creep is gone, sometimes it just takes me awhile to get to minor things like that!
