Not for your 2009. My earlier comment about wiring up the intercooler water pump probably doesn’t affect you since your truck doesn’t have the SAIS emissions.

I'm thinking the install manual URD provided is the same that's on Magnuson's site:https://magnusonsuperchargers.com/collections/tacoma/products/01-90-40-007-bl

The kit was complete for me to do the job with all the parts. You just supply the labor and tools. I didn't do the tune first since I used OTT to tune my system and had them provide it to me on a separate ECU, so essentially an unplug and re-plug back in. I didn't really read through the tune part because of this, but you can perform it later.

The general recommendation I've read is to stay away from the Bully Dog tune due to lean issues...I think.

Good to know. I would love to hear which direction the lean is off though - I'm up at altitude, so if the issue is too lean that actually helps me out. If it's too rich thats a double whammy.

Basically I just want a beginning tune that gets me up and running. There is a semi local business that does tuning, HP tuner to be specific - and my plan is to have him run it when he's in the area, I just want to get it up and running to start with if that makes sense.

Different options to take here. I opted to go with the standard TRD tune from @JustDSM. Been running it for the past 7 months or so. I'm about to switch over to a customized OTT tune. Already have the RTD, just waiting for some parts to come in and slap on and carve out some time to get it done.

The TRD will get you by, it's just found to be not ideal. I recall Justin posting about someone that had been driving around SC on a NA tune too.(don't do this)

Does your local shop have experience with 1GRs specifically? I'm all for supporting local business but I'm not going to a chiropractor for a colonoscopy. :alien:

I've seen that quite a few times over the years. A few of the most recent were a 2024 4Runner, w/ less than 2K miles went to a Maggy Dealer to have it installed, and came out with the supercharger installed properly, but no calibration applied.

Another was a 2014 Tundra bought new. Always serviced at the dealer. Came in for a tune and it was on the TRD S/C Cal. Dealer tech must have seen an update was available and blindly applied it despite the truck not ever having been fitted with the SC...

local shop will get you setup or you can ship your ECU to JustDSM. This is what I did. Quick turnaround. Then we applied some custom tunes after. If you plan to tinker get a tuner. Easy to apply files if you prefer a tuner. The OTT and Justin have been our allies in boosted.

    I have mods
Just checking, is this the correct coupler for the supercharger? It seems like sconline doesn't specify the 4.0 TRD/Magnuson for a coupler.

    https://superchargersonline.com/product/scol-extreme-duty-supercharger-coupler/

Gathering parts to go through mine. Sitting at about 105k on the XRunner now and it's never been rebuilt or gone through that I know of. I figure the coupler is probably the main thing I want to replace. I have no noise/grinding or anything. Belt, tensioner and a smaller pulley are on the list as well.

I definitely agree with going to the shorter oil fill tube, as I was grabbing the part numbers I threw in the TRD oil cap just to see what the ah

Oh. Oh yeah thats... some price. It's nice and all but uh wow. For $150 bones I want at least 15 more horses out of that thing.

I know for the evap tests you need to have 1/4-3/4 fuel. If you have a full tank it wont test I believe

Coming from China? That's Lunar new years dates where they don't really work.

Yep, at this point, I wouldn't recommend anyone to follow my lead.... I'm in constant communication with the US rep (who's in Aurora), but unfortunately still waiting.... Kinda ridiculous.

    Hello,

It is with great pleasure to use this thread for some help. I have recently received my truck back from the shop after install and i believe i may have a bad SC tensioner.

I purchased a used SC and had it re built internally. But i have noticed a few things while driving recently it felt like the truck briefly fell flat on its face once for a moment on the freeway and drove normal right after. a couple days later it threw a p0430 code. Also i swear when they were running tests i was getting close to 10 lbs of boost at times. so far when i have driven im getting 6-7 max which seems low for the setup.

reset code ran for data and it didn't come back yet.
    here is what we did.

    2015 Tacoma 4.0

    Magnuson SC
    7th injector
    2.5 URD Stealth Pully
    Cam gears
    URD ECU
    URD Headers

we have rebuilt almost the whole front end of the engine
    upgraded fuel pump
new o2 sensors and mass airflow
    new ignition coils
    on top of much more

wondering if this may be the culprit of the issues what made me also dig more is i noticed this belt not sitting flush. please see image below. if you have any questions i can try an answer or get more information.

Thank you all for the help on this. i was not so much hands on with the SC portion of this build.

I'm just getting my gear lined up for install, have the parts in hand - my SC kit from URD came with the paper instructions for the tune, but not the main install instructions. Is that normal? I really like having paper printed out to make notes on as I go. My URD CAI also came with the paper instructions. Curious if thats a thing, it's somewhere around 80 pages not sure I want to abuse the work printer quite that badly.

Official Toyota install instructions PTR29-35120.pdf attached. 60 pages.
Magnuson version is 72 pages, on Manuals, Documents, and Calibration tab https://magnusonsuperchargers.com/products/01-90-40-007-bl

I recommend reviewing both versions. The Toyota one has illustrations, while the Magnuson has photos.

With the 7th injector, URD ECU I don't have direct experience with your setup.

I do have memory of another member recently having to send back their URD ECU because it had failed yet again. This was after back and forth with them to even get it fixed.
