Currently have method 305’s 16x8 0 offset with 4.5 backspacing clearing 285/75/16 no issues and no spacers. Is anyone running 295’s with maxtrac spindles without it rubbing? And should I be worried about going up to 295/75/16?

Creeping in here with a Camburg lift spindle. Will bump to 37’s after the 35’s wear out

Sorry to bump this thread. I own a RWD 3rd gen Taco. I currently have a 2/1 lift, its simple and tame for my 265/70 tires. Does anyone know if I ever upgraded to the MaxTrax spindles, would I need a new UCA or anything else besides a drivetrain spacer? What are yall doing to get a 3" rear lift? Leaf kit and new shocks? What size tires would work without any cab mount cuts, or is that pretty much mandatory with a 4" lift to fit bigger tires? I know these 265/70's would look goofy.

you won't need new UCAs. The benefit of the Spindle lift is that it keeps all the stock geometry the same. and you'd need a rear lift to match the front height. if you leave the 2" front lift and install the spindles you'd have a 6" lift. so you'd need to get a larger leaf pack for the rear or cheap out and go with blocks. you'll also need wheel spacers for the rear unless you dont mind the look of having your front tires poking out further than the rears. there are a few in here that run 265/70 with the spindles. just do a search in the search bar and check "this thread only" box. you'll probably need a cab mount chop depending the tire/rim combo.

Thanks for the quick reply! Okay, I thought so about the UCA, so that's a nice benefit. Do they ride similar to stock too then?

Why would I need wheel spacers, do the spindles cause the wheels to stick out further in the front? Right now I'm rocking a 0 offset. If I did spindles, I'd remove the 1" spacer in the front.

If you run just the spindles, it will ride like it’s stock. The spindles push the front tires out 3/4”. I’m running 1.25 Spidertrax on the rear to make it look more uniform. You can put a block in the rear for an expensive lift. 285s work perfectly fine with the 4” spindle.

Good to know about the spacers, thanks man. Would 285's rub at all with spindles, or would I need to do a CMC, or is that only with non-spindle setups? Also, I have a 1.5" block now and I get axle wrap, if I do the Spindles I think I'd do a leaf pack, any out there that add 3" rear lift, or would I do a 2" leaf pack + 1" block? I don't mind a 1" or 1.5" block, but I don't wanna go above that.

I had to trim a little bit of the inner fender, but mine is a 2nd Gen. They do have 3” leaf packs. I have an AAL and block on the rear of mine. I don’t have axle wrap. If you want to have a better load capacity in the rear, then definitely go the new leaf pack route.

it’ll ride like stock with the stock absorbers, if you change those then it’ll ride however those handle. I.e. softer/firmer. And wheel spacers are needed for the rear of you want the rear wheels to stick out the same distance as the fronts because the spindles do push the wheel further outside the fender than stock.

also keep in mind you’d need longer brake lines, but if I remember right the Maxtrac kit comes with that.

I don’t have this lift but I almost did so I did a lot of research. There’s tons of info in The first 50 pages of this thread.

the fix for axle wrap could be as simple as putting new absorbers.

did you put wheel spacers in the rear wheels? I might go this route with my 3rd gen sr5. Cleanest maxtrac lift I’ve ever seen so far.

Wheel spacers: 1.25” front 2” rear. Since spindle kicks out front 3/4”.

You guys who may know more about this than I do, I wonder if with the maxtrax and Bilsteins at 0 with the stock springs if I can use my UCAS JBA's. I like to have my camber approx. at -0.3, but I wonder if it would then be too much caster, as it would be around 3 degrees or so.

Speaking from experience, 3⁰ caster is about half of what I aim for on my Toyota/Lexus off-roaders. These platforms love to eat the firewall so more caster is gooder.

Hey all. Not sure if this is the right location for this question, but a have a 2015 Tacoma prerunner 2wd. Currently running block and spacer 3 inch lift on stock just to fit 33’s. I’m looking to upgrade the suspension and beef up the rear a bit as I tend to tow a lot and carry a seadoo/ lots of stuff in the bed. What would you all recommend? Thank you for your time.

Maxtrac for the front end lift and new springs in the rear if you plan tow heavy weight. I have an add-a-leaf and block and the rear springs still sag when I put a decent amount of weight in the bed or trailer.
