The back is part of the downturn piece. Memory says front is integral, but rest is same. Back piece slips inside. Not home for a few days, otherwise I’d take pics.

 

I can look at mine and get pics tomorrow but I like the cutting out the middle idea. It will look best. Slick them together with a dab of rtv

Shouldn’t have to if the tail is the same from the front all the way to the end. The curve for the back of the cab is separate and has the part that fits the clip.

 

Looks like the back piece goes in the clip and the tail is just cut with a notch to hold the tail

 

This is great info. I could get away with just the two long pieces and give them a little snip and a notch hole and use the original OEM strip as a stencil. I can't see the 3rd gen set up differing from the 2nd gen version. I'll have to pull mine up and compare. Thanks for that visual!
