It's more of a bitch since it's been a long time since I really GAF about the intricacies of operating systems/drivers/whatever, so a lot has passed me by. Some days I wonder if I want to GAF.

I'm dreading October when they cut support for Windows 10 and we're pretty much forced to go to 11

Last year I had a hoover around or whatever you call it & my buddy is a vet, so we sat in the handicapper pavilion.

Pretty good view & in the shade which I need.

I had to buy a new laptop because my old one, while not that old, was deemed incompatible with 11. All in all, 11 isn't that bad...there are differences, but so far, most things have been pretty easy to figure out.

Is there an updated version of the driver on the softwares website?

Ask the tech nerds, but I think you can run software as an older windows os, on your newer version.

If it runs my command and conquer and doesn't mess up my music I'll be fine. If it screws either one of those up I'm going to be not fine.

Compatibility mode which in theory should work fine and in practice is such a joke of a piece of software that whoever designed it for Microsoft should be drawn and quartered.

It does, or might, limit certain features.

While you are here Mr mechanic man, do you by chance happen to know if the alignment hardware for a 4Runner is the same as a Tacoma?

I think it is. Cam and caster bolts should* be 22mm, 15 mm for the tie rods, and also 22mm for the jam nut.

    I think ..... :anonymous:

But like with any alignment, bring a good set of Dutchman's pliers

Got a little extra of that? Been looking at the rust in a few areas of my rear bumper and waiting for a warm day to sand them down and apply a cost of Steel-It, but want to do that with the bumper on the truck. I'll need a masking solution.

    Yeah.
I always keep a couple around.

It beats pulling the sliders or, in your case, bumper back off.

Edit: Cardboard so I can coat the underside 1st. Then remove cardboard and spray the top.

Driver installation failure is probably because of Driver Signature Enforcement in Win 11. You need to find an updated driver for Win 11 or run the software on a pre- Win 10 platform. Checking the vendor web site as Brian suggested is your best bet. Chances are that the driver has not been updated to a signed(vendor has to pay MS $$) version. I still keep a Win XP machine sitting around for such things.

Hopefully your rear LCA bolts aren't seized like mine. o_O

The alignment guy got mine in spec after the OME installation. But, he told me that if I wanted everything perfect, I'll have to cut out the bolts and probably replace the LCA.

Rich, I went to the Autel website, downloaded & installed the MaxiPCSuite V1.33 on my Win 10 machine without issue. This should solve your problem. Shipping old software with new hardware is a PITA for the customer.

Here is the download link: https://www.maxitpms.com/tpmscms/Downloads/index.jhtml

Does anyone have a good picture of a dusty trail run? There are a few guys on the 4Runner forum claiming that chase lights serve no purpose. I'm trying to explain why they're nice to have.
