I don’t know about everyone else here, but I worked hard my entire life to buy what I want. I love my 4th gen, and look at it at the Tacoma I always wished Toyota would build. It takes a real piece of crap to come into this forum and berate someone else’s joy. The 3rd gen would never have had a brake recall because the platform was already 11 years old. Don’t act like your trucks were perfect, they weren’t. This is a ground up redesign, and the only reason I bought another Tacoma.

I'm not berating at all, where have I said its a crappy vehicle, I don't care for the look, but that's subjective, but I will interject when someone tries to paint a picture that another gen was plagued with problems which is far from accurate and degrade it's clearly sought after status whether accurate or not. When my 2022 is boring and I decide to upgrade I'm sure I'll be in another Tacoma, just like I owned a 1st 2nd and 3rd generation and I too work hard for everything in my life, glad you are enjoying the fruits of yours.

so you take offense when I say that this fourth generation is leaps and bounds better than either of my third GEN. Maybe quit being so condescending and be happy for those of us that love our trucks.

If I recall, I paid about $45,000 or $46,000. Something like that.

How did I take offense, look back at the thread friend I was responding to another member's response not yours and leaps and bounds is subjective, maybe to you and what you feel is an improvement, but many feel its not.

Weird, sort of like the 4th gen is already experiencing, but yes "leaps and bounds" ahead.

May I remind you this is the fourth gen forum. You came here. We are not going into the third GEN forum telling everybody how much better our truck is than theirs. Maybe you oughta stick in the third forum.

You do know it’s 2025 now right? You must be stuck in early 2024…..yeah some trans failed, yeah some evaporator issue, all old news , the brake line recall isn’t even an issue for 99 percent of people , who cares it’s getting fixed. Your 3rd gen is 20 years old with the same issues for 20 years…

Its literally the same for this gen with campaigns, recalls and TSBs. We are less than 2 years in and 4th gen has had recalls, campaigns, TSBs just like the 3rd gen had and were fixed into its production, you seriously think the 4th gen will go the next 6 years without any issues or further recalls, TSBs and campaigns. That's comical.

No….the point is a 2023 Tacoma is 20 years old, it had loads of known issues, lots of tsb/recalls. Your trying to set the 3rd gen as a “pillar of perfection” that all new generations must live up too.

Sarcasm friend. Clearly we are going to disagree here, back to the thread topic.

Never have I once said it was perfect, quite the contrary. You however have decided to trash talk it as some problem ridden vehicle it is not and put your new truck on a pedestal that is still unproven and young into its production with also issues even if limited and early just like the 3rd gen, and 2nd gen and 1st gen.

Seriously though, don’t you go to the dealership every couple weeks or months and work numbers on buying a 4th gen? I swear you posted something like that recently .,

You do realize that the fourth GEN had half as many recalls as the 2016/3 GEN correct

I’m not putting the 4th gen on a pedestal, after owning both I’m telling you there’s no comparison between the generations. I owned 3rd gen’s and I had lots of problems with them some very very big problems, they don’t impress me at all.

I am a toyota fan boy and often trade so yes I entertain it from time to time not every week so I have some familiarity with the new gen and trade values / market, have also played numbers shopped new Tundras too and the wife is on the wait list for a new GX 550 which we've test drove and been critical of those just the same as I was of her Rav4 hybrid, her RXh and 23 GX.

It's less than 24 months into production, that's like saying its perfect now and no future recalls. How many recalls did it have its first 2 years, true recalls, cant think of one, there were TSBs and service bulletins, but don't remember a major recall the first two years.
