No it’s not, but it makes a difference on stating opinions that actually hold water, not baseless mumbling

Dealer trade-in values are always garbage....
If you really want it gone, your only chance is to sell it on your own.
Look at KBB trade-in #'s vs private party #'s...

Folk be arguing as if they had a hand in designing these trucks. Everyone here is just a consumer. Buying A vs B isn't a skillset.

The 2016 had 4 recalls. The 2024 had 2. Don’t make excuses. This is fact.

Hood scoop may detach and incorrect bolts loosening are pretty far down my list of things to be concerned about. So far, some 2024s have experienced issues with the transmission and there is the potential to damage the rear brake hose.

2023 pro here. Man that was a trash price KBB has for your truck!

My trade in is just under $47k.

    Oh these 4?

    1) Knee airbag (first few 16s)
    2) Rear Diff leak (bad gasket)
    3) Crank Position Sensors (bad batch of parts limited to few trucks)
    4) Hood Scoop attachment

You can't just compare recalls to recalls. How about all the service bulletins known issues on the 4th gen. Just because Toyota hasn't recognized a TSB or service bulletin as a recall (24 Transmissions) just like they did the Tundra till it became a recall or the evap cooler failures, etc. doesn't mean its a more reliable vehicle.

The transmission problem was debris, it hasn’t been brought up months in any forum or Facebook group out of the thousands of owners, it’s old news. The cracked evap box was early built trucks and only a select few they figured this out back in the summer, old news . Other then those 2 things there hasn’t been 1
    Mechanical trending issue

As were the 4 recalls your buddy keeps trying to point out, limited numbers or due to manufacturing issues and a small group of trucks early production. It's early to pull the mechanical superiority card there bud. Hopefully you are changing your turbo'd engine oil sooner than the 10k suggestion...

Luckily, we are all buying our forever truck, so resale doesn't matter. Those poor 5th gen folks are going to have a hard time getting in the game.

Pretty much like all the 4G threads. It usually is for the same reason as well.
