Of course there is a fix for the brake recall. Vehicles with 4wd/17" wheels/16" brakes produced after the period included in the recall are currently arriving to dealerships ready to be sold, not subject to the stop sale. In NHTSA language "remedy not yet available" means that the company hasn't yet completed the process of notifying customers, instructing dealerships on the fix, and distributing parts to the dealerships. "Remedy available" means the process has advanced to the point you can go to the dealership and get it fixed. Every manufacturer has plenty of recalls. Toyota has remarkably few for how many vehicles they sell in the US.

Regardless of all you said, the cost of a 4th gen OR is significantly higher. He also didn't even ask about a 4th gen

Garbage? That's a stretch. The 3rd gen might be archaic, but it was/still is one of the most popular trucks on the road. Besides that, the 4th gen is way over priced for a midsized truck

I think arguing about which generation is overall better than the other is like 4 rich people sitting in a room arguing over who is richer. These are great trucks. They dominate the market. They're historically reliable. They're all different. They get more complicated, more powerful, and more expensive every generation. And they attract extremely dedicated passionate followers who like to be competitive among themselves.

I will very much miss my 2nd gen when I finally get into my 4th gen. So many years of fun, freedom, reliability and cheap maintenance. But I'll for sure smile a huge smile when I'm headed up a mountain in the 4th gen towing my camper not watching the RPMs, transmission temps and all the other trucks passing me. The brake issue has a fix, it just hasn't arrived at the dealership yet for people to schedule the repair. Let's debate points without using unnecessary hyperbole and misinformation. Just my opinion.

Yes I realize the irony of saying this on a 3rd gen forum since I have no first hand experience with them. But hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed them for years, and the point still applies.

Yeah I thinking about it, still doesn’t change the fact they are crap lol.
Yeah…..because the market is back to normal. I guess you don’t remember car lots prior to Covid? You got scalped no matter what you were trading in

I bought my 2022 off road for a little over $41k new. They were going to give me $35,200 last week on a trade toward a basic 2025 TRDOR. The new one not delivered yet but it was under $44k if i made the deal. Thought it was a fair price for the new one. I like the 4th gen and will probably eventually buy one it's just that I like my 22 more right now. Facts are facts, percentage wise, 3rd gen owners will reclaim more of their initial purchase amount. 4th gens are depreciating faster because people associate them with the current Tundra issues.

I didnt forget. I had to look 200 miles away to find my 2022 at MSRP back then. There's tons on the lots because they're not selling in the numbers they expected. If I traded cars every 3 years I'd jump at it, almost did. If I'm gonna keep it for a while I'd pass for now. In a few years we'll know more.

I hear ya, I’d personally take my chances with any 4th gen over a 3rd gen for reliability, I been down the road with 3rd gen’s major issues from multiple trucks.

I've had no issues at all on mine other than a squeak in the front shocks, fixed under warranty. I'm sure there's a few lemons out there. If for some reason my 3rd gen was gone, stolen, crashed (knock on wood) etc I'd give the 4th gen a serious hard look although I might go full size and abandon Toyota altogether. The Tundra is a no go for me. Keep everyone posted on yours. Alot of us don't root against the next gen.

My only comment. I would absolutely kill to have old school halo lights. The LED are not recommended for winter driving. Its not only the ice build up. The halogen melt that ice and as you are moving the water cleans the lense. Trust me the LED are inferior under winter driving conditions.

Switching my LEDs to halo are high on my list. But I have terrible terrible luck with electrical

I ain’t denying that you dip shit, I’ve been on this forum longer than your dumb ass. I’ve owned 5 3rd gens, they sucked, I thought about buying a late 23 and keeping it as a souvenir, but made no sense financially.

2 of the 3rd gens I owned had the same problem with the front struts squeaking . Yeah as time goes on we’ll see how the 4th gen does. I don’t drive much so other people will definitely be testing that much faster then me

....unless you like the cheese grater grill.
I believe also power seats were added in TRD models.

It will be interesting to see how the tariffs effect the prices

I accept your apology, but, who is the real dip shit and dumb ass here? I didn't buy 5 of the same vehicle that I thought sucked. You know what they call someone who keeps doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result...
