I only buy Toyotas…. Junk or not junk, oh and I’ll give you this the resale was so great and I owed so little on each truck it never hurt me financially. Throughout all that time I never had to buy tires, or pay for anything at all

I always found the Tacoma factory halos very good. Lights the road well. My Wrangler however was like driving by candlelight. Best upgrade I've done.

I purchased a 2021 Double Cab off road in December 2020. It is my first Tacoma and I’ve had zero issues. I believe one of the changes for that model year was the fully adjustable driver’s seat. I believe that was a change from all years prior.

Only unsolvable problem with the 4G is the origami-inspired styling, the other teething pains and production issues will be resolved in time I am sure.

I bought my 2017 new and had had zero problems with it that I did not cause myself, through modification, or abuse. I keep track of travel data, using my Garmin, so can say I’ve put about 80,000 off-road Kms on the truck, which is just under half of the total kms on the truck. It has spent weeks on gravel touring Canada’s north, taken on the Whipsaw Trail on 32” tires, been on the beach, in the desert, and up into the alpine all over western North America, and never given me one moment of concern. Hopefully that carries on.

I try not to listen to him too much , but once in a while I get caught up in his madness . Major issues he always says . What would that be lol
Oh wait … the 3 rd Gen doesn’t have 600 horsepower and 800 ft lbs of torque and do a 9 second 1/4 mile . That must make it junk. OR MAYBE the truck don’t ride quietly like a Lexus RX … yup it’s junk
    This guy is a rip

You want me to name all the known issues smart ass? You obviously haven’t been on here to long have you? You obviously haven’t followed the last 8 years of bitching and moaning from 3rd gen owners and issues that have been brought up in those years .

For so much bitching and moaning , Toyota sold a good amount didn’t they ? Problems … first off
Hate to pee in your cheerios. All vehicles have them . So let’s take a look at them .
let’s start with the so called worst
1- Auto trans , you didn’t like the way it shifted ? Well maybe it is quirky , but how many transmissions went bad ? I never heard of one . I rather have a couple of quirks then real issues .
2- rear brake light yes some people had to deal with some crap , but the majority of the time there were no issues. But Toyota fixed it .
3- timing cover leak very small percentage and actually is more of a seep and it affects a lot of motors of all brands .
My point is yes there was stuff but most not very serious And more of an annoyance.
All I can say is whatever you are looking for I really hope you find . Trucks DO NOT ride like a car.
Good luck , you seem to find fault in everything

I've driven one and ridden in the trd pro at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale on an off road race track and I still prefer my 3rd gen. :D
