    Exactly.

I figured having one that has a "hatch" is easier to handle then a solid panel in terms of getting in-and-out.

I thought about doing this last year but I'm just a bit lazy hah

I’m cheap. I think that’s the only option I’m getting

TBH, If I could do it again, it would not get the side windows because I keep them covered 24/7 with curtains. I'm hardly hanging out inside the camper at night and when I do, you can't really see anything out side because its dark (unless you install exterior lights).

L-Tracks on the roof - I haven't used them yet. I planned to install rigid solar panels, but I think I would get flexible instead and use the L-tracks for a weBoost and ham/ GMRS antenna. But being lazy, I haven't done any of that yet hah.

That's correct, it closes it off. In my case I was talking with them about getting one since my toddler sleeps up top and flops around enough to make me nervous. It also means you can slide the mattress back a bit and keep your feet out of the wedge.

I made one out of plywood to see if I liked it before committing the cost, but yes its kind of a pain to slide it out and move it. I've just accepted the battle for the better sleep. If I don't have my son with me it stays at home.

It’s pulled off, my fiancee convinced me to keep it for trips. We’re trying to buy a place in OC.

100% waterproofed. I nailed the interior design and had Terra Quest do the labor.

Looks great, how is it mounted to the truck? Also, how is the mattress?

Attached to base plate, attached to bed rails. Mattress is 5x better than my Mesa, I finally don’t need a mattress topper and don’t bottom out.

I have the new mattress in my mesa, its not too bad at all, side sleepers can finally sleep. The design looks great, having all the drawers accessible from within the truck is clutch, what's the base plate coated with, photos make it look textured?
What did you do to waterproof? I did everything I could on my mesa and still have a corner leak.

Anyone have a photo of factory installed fan?

I just bought a used Mesa and looking to put a fan-tactic fan (or other option, still deciding) in it, but trying to figure out spacing since the roof is 1/8” and I’m assuming I’ll need some sort of spacer to make it work?

Still a couple months away. Just gameplanning away. In the what-can-I-have-my-friend-3D-print-for-me stage. Was thinking the spacer for fan would qualify.

My buddy has a Badlander with the fan installed from Topo and they used a wood spacer (at least it looks wood). Ill have my buddy snag a picture next time its popped.

Anyone alter their bed panel(s)/platform to make it on gas struts so that it lifts out of the way? I’ve seen it done on Vagabonds, which use essentially identical bed panels.

No but I thought about making it so the two panels attach to one another and then make them hook up to the ceiling or something. would be nice to have easy access to open bed space without moving panels on top of each other over bedding

I saw this video when looking at build out ideas. Looks like he removed the two panels and built a single panel.

If I don’t get any hits on my post by the weekend I’ll be making one out of some scrap 3/4” plywood as a temp solution. If it turns out pretty well I might keep it and post results on here. I have the gas struts, just need some hinges to keep it in place.

Struts method will be awsome compared to the hook and chain method. It'll look cleaner too.

if its easy to do, I'd be interested in a parts list. I think attaching the two current panels would be best for me since I wouldnt have any use for those panels if i didn't have them in the truck.
